Disappointing experience—definitely not what we expected from a seafood or Fuzhou cuisine restaurant. There’s really nothing distinctly “seafood” about this place, nor does it do justice to authentic Fuzhou (福州) dishes. It seems to be trying to strike a balance, but unfortunately falls short on both ends. We ended up here during a packed weekend with Raya holidays approaching—every other Chinese restaurant was fully booked with returning locals. Oddly, Lido Seafood had vacancies, which should’ve been a red flag in hindsight. The place typically caters to weddings or events, so the lack of bookings on a festive evening was telling. Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent they were severely understaffed. There was no host or staff to greet or seat us—it was free-for-all seating. Ordering was even more frustrating. There were hardly any staff around, and we had to flag down (presumably) the lady boss to place our order. She pushed us to take the set menu for 5 people, which we declined as we wanted to try specific dishes. Instead of accommodating us, she just walked off without even taking our order. After a long wait, her daughter eventually stepped in and, to her credit, was far more professional and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t redeem the experience. The dishes lacked authenticity and flavor: The omelette wasn’t fluffy and had no crisp. Stir-fried vegetables were inconsistently cooked—some overdone, others under. The sweet and sour ribs tasted like they were reheated. The “homemade” tofu had nothing special to offer. The most disappointing dish was the spicy and sour fish maw stew—a staple in Fuzhou cuisine. It had no heat, no sourness, and the fish maw was soggy and flavorless. The dish was oddly sweet and devoid of substance—completely missing the mark. Payment was another slow ordeal, with what looked like the owners’ kids manning the counter without any sense of urgency or structure. They do accept cash, credit cards (including Amex), and e-wallets. Overall, it was a frustrating and underwhelming experience. With so many better options in town, especially for local Chinese fare, it is impossible to recommend this place.

Walked into this restaurant with no prior knowledge that it was considered famous. I had my expectations pretty high when I saw all the signs, posters, and clips of food shows featuring the chef in the restaurant. But the food was average at its best. The crispy tofu was good, but not mind-blowing. Given that it was one of the menu's signature, I expected more. The other food did not really stand out too, not even the 佛跳墙 soup. They were okay, but just okay. The staffs weren't the friendliest. We walked in at opening hours, but the sign at the door still said 'closed'. We asked if they were operating, and while the staffs said 'yes', the chef-looking man sneered when I told them the sign was flipped to the 'closed' side. Overall okay place to get your stomach filled, just filled, not satisfied.

Revisiting one of Sitiawan’s old school F&B institution who has been around since 1979. Last visit was probably more than 10 years ago at their old site. New site is much bigger and can host dinner events. Menu still fairly extensive and Foochow dishes still the highlight especially for out of town visitors. The red wine noodles are popular but not to my liking. I like the fried oh chien (fried oyster omelette) as its very crispy and the oysters taste are not over powering. However some may prefer the Penang style where the oysters are much bigger and the eggs are wetter. The rest of the dishes are pretty much comfort food. Overall good taste and adequate portion. Reasonable price & comfy cosy environment for a nice meal. Parking outside is plenty.

Definitely NOT recommended.

Service : The service is terrible, it's like they are not even trying. We stop by to get some lunch, however it was a time consuming disaster. It took 5 minutes to get out orders as we call attention to the 3 different people behind the counter. After ordering, we had to wait for another 20 minutes just to have our tea. Within those 20 minutes we have asked the manager to expedite the process only to be met with bad attitude and bring ignored. When served our tea, the tea and ice came first while we have to ask the waiter AGAIN just to have our glasses. After waiting for a gruesome 50 minutes only are we then served half of what we ordered ( We ordered 4 dishes, with tofu, mixed veg, a fish, and some pork belly in our orders. ) After another 20 minutes, we had to ask for the waitress again to expedite our first AGAIN. Let me clear as well, although it is lunch time, half of the restaurant is empty, and most of the table that have patron are already served. Therefore there is no reason for the food to be slow, and kitchen to be occupied, especially when we arrive at 12.00 and our food only come completed at 14.00. If you happen to have plans to grab a quick lunch, or have other plans to do in the area, this place is highly not recommended. There is sign that asks us to be understanding of new staff, however the blame is still there because there is no one to manage the floor and new hires. There is no experience staff that is competent of ensuring that food comes out on time nor to ensure that service is reasonable.

Food : The food is not that great nor is it notable, therefore do not be persuaded or tricked by online influencers or bloggers that praises the place. After the long wait, the food came cold, it is reasonable to conclude that the food has been waiting at the kitchen for awhile before arriving to our tables. There is not a lot of meat on the fish, therefore it is not recommended to order it as the fish might be as hungry as the customers. The food is also on the saltier side, therefore if you have older or younger table members, this place is too salt heavy to recommend.

Price : The total for the food we ordered was RM 162, the most expensive item was the fish which was quoted at 750 gram of white snapper HOWEVER, the fish does not even look like it had 500 grams, let alone 750 grams. Therefore this place does not serve food with value, nor quality.

All in all, it is best for you to find another place to find, the place is overhyped and the staff is condescendingly rude. Will not visit again and do not recommend...
