I am not someone who usually writes reviews, especially ones that are not nice. Visited this eatery on 8.6.2024 for dinner, it was packed however we managed to get a table.
Ambience was lively (not the quietest place if you are aiming for peaceful catch up, but that was fine with us).
Ordered at approximately 7.40-750pm. Drinks came reasonably fast (in about 10 minutes). So we waited. And waited. And waited for our food. We started getting restless after realising that the table next to us still had 2 people who hadn't gotten their food. We continued waiting. At 8.30pm, we asked the staff about our order, and she mentioned that she would check for us. But we had to check again after 10 minutes (8.40pm) because no one got back to us.
So after 1 hour of waiting, the staff told us that it would take another HALF AN HOUR before we got our food. Total waiting time would be 1.5 HOURS!
No one had to courtesy to tell us! We would have been kept waiting if we had not asked! We had a 4 year old child with us, and the staff did not have any empathy to inform us.
In the end, we decided to leave and paid RM30 for 2 drinks. Wasted our time, didn't get our food, had a hungry and upset child.
At least they were kind of apologetic for it. But more thought should go into manpower and staffing, and professionalism to check on customers.
Place looks good, food looks nice, but takeaways from this experience: Make sure you have (lots of) time to spare before eating here. Do not eat here if you...

I counted no less than 15 variants of them. Grilled, deep-fried, served with fries, rice, fried rice, or pasta and served with a multitude of sauces. In fact, the cafe missed an opportunity to call themselves The Chin's Chicken Chop Cafe or 4Cs to go all-in on the cluck-cluck.
Jokes aside, I enjoy the calming ambience of the cafe. Located opposite Starbucks Gunung Rapat, they first opened in Old Town and moved here a year or two ago. The staff are friendly, accommodating and prompt. Service and decor-wise, nothing to fault.
Let's say you'd like something other than chicken chop, they have an assortment of pastas, croissants, and two that stick out... Laksa and Chin's tofu. Weird, but I like the confidence. For drinks, they have many creative concoctions eg sparkling juice and iced teas, but strangely lack coffee.
Taste-wise, the chicken chop pasta I had was seasoned and grilled well, while the butter cream sauce was superb. Pasta was cooked al-dente and seasoned generously. Only problem was, well look at the chicken chop, their pride and joy. Does it look a bit, erm, 2D? I hope this was a one-off, since I remember their portions to be larger the last few times I came.
All in all, worth a visit for the aesthetics, although on the pricey side. A chicken chop, appetiser and drink will easily set you back about RM50. Fix the portion, and you'll...
Read moreFirst of all, The Chin's Cafe provides a clean and welcoming environment for us to enjoy their foods & beverages. IMO this cafe has one of the perfect atmosphere and ambience.
I was amazed by this dish called Cucumber with Tofu, the combination between sweet & sour sauce and crushed peanuts absolutely match with the tofu. It can be an appetizer if you needed.
Thus, usually the fish and chips are not my cup of tea but it was fresh and delicous in a thin and crisp batter. The fish and chips were quiet big portion, firm and flaky, free of bones and not too oily and white in colour.
Besides, one of their signature Western Style Chicken Chop Rice taste wonderful too. There are variety of sauces, the one I match with is Thai style sauce. Everything was excellent, from the flavours which meldes together beautifully, to the perfectly cooked, the Thai style was homemade and taste pretty authentic. The balance between sweet, sour sauce and tiny bit of spice were definitely amazing.
In such a nice environment, having with these superb foods. We certainly will come...
