Do read this if you are considering to visit BEAM:

This is my first visit to BEAM and I am very pleased with the overall dining experience.

The restaurant is well designed and decorated with a lot of indoor plants, such as Platycerium holttumii. I can see that the owner put in substantial effort in pulling the designs together to make it a pleasing dining experience to all of their patrons! ❤️

The service is awesome! When I arrived the restaurant, it is fully occupied and therefore I queued for my turn. However, the receptionist asked for my number and informed me about the estimated waiting time, allowing me to know when I can get in. Turns out, the estimated waiting time is accurate and I was able to dine punctually. The waitresses and waiters in the restaurant are very attentive to me and my friends and even offered to keep our umbrella. Additionally, they also offered extra chairs to put our personal belongings. Their service is indeed none like others!

Food wise, I particularly enjoy the BEAM French Toast. The French toast is served with coffee syrup and comes with fruits such as strawberries and blueberries. I highly recommend this dish! And you can tell they are very good with their coffee just by trying the coffee syrup. I am not a coffee connoisseur, but it did manage to impress me!

For other food I ordered, including kam hiong pasta and nasi lemak, their flavour is good, however it can be stepped up further! Big breakfast is very normal - it comes with ham, sausages, hashbrown and egg, mushrooms and sourdough bread. It doesn't match the artisan vibes that the place is giving as the sausages and ham are basically frozen food, and are not handmade in the restaurant.

Overall, I am happy with the experience and hence rating it 5*. I understand the specialty of this place is coffee and hence I am not knocking down the rating due to some of the dishes I tried. You should come if...

Stylish industrial cafe in Sri Damansara.

Apart from the famous Bean Brothers in KD, BEAM deserves special mention because they have been in existence longer and they roast their own beans plus distribution of their beans to the market. Actually I like going to BEAM because of the good coffee as well as their food.

One of the rare cafes where they actually serve own made local delights as well as western style breakfast on top of their awesome coffee which they roast themselves. Take time to explore many parts of the cafe which include a mezzanine floor where more tables are available to cater for bigger crowds.

◾Nasi lemak with curry chicken - they did our national breakfast dish justice and the creamy curry chicken was such a delight. ◾Big breakfast - definitely didn't skimp on the ingredients as the whole plate was laden with food. ◾French toast - no complain as the daughter loves it especially when drizzled with the chocolate sauce ◾Apart from that, they also have cakes, pastries as well as local kuih-muih to choose from at the counter. Even elder people appreciates this when they know that they can eat local pastries, as they are not used to western.

◾Coffee - one sip was all it took to jolt me up immediately. Kaw kaw and packed with flavour.

They have a corner where they sell the coffee beans plus accessories as well... and coupled with the fact that the cafe is manned by young & enthusiastic team who are more than eager to assist you, the experience at BEAM is truly a positive one.

Come on weekdays, most parking spots are taken by those who work nearby. Come on weekends, most parking spots are taken by cafe hoppers and...

Food: * (coffee **) Ambience: ** Service: * Value for money: * Overall: **1/2 Coffee is king but the food comes a close second!

It takes a brave man or woman to set up a cafe in an industrial lot. Bravo to them as they have pulled it off. This cafe is beautifully designed with an upper level in one big open space. Walk in and you smell fresh coffee immediately.

This is my 2nd visit - this time to sample the food. Our food (in order of preference) - beam toast (crunchy and filled with kaya and toasted almond flakes), ham and cheese panini (not cheap but comes with good cheese), smoked duck with aglio olio (with proper button mushrooms, no cheating with shiitake mushrooms!), matcha cheesecake (beautiful flavours, could be a bit lighter), nasi lemak (rice was a bit soggy and the curry could be stronger in curry flavour), an assortment of nyonya kueh (so so).

And then there's the coffee - the star offering in the cafe. We all liked the iced coffee, local coffee and gwai loh latte.

Service was brisk and professional - from the time we were shown our table, order taking, waiting (waiter spelled out each order as they came) to the time the food took to arrive at our table.

This place deserves the crowds it gets during the weekend. Often, cafes get their coffee right but serve underwhelming food. BEAM does both right - you get exceptional coffee and delicious food.
