Doux Doux - A Dessert Paradise for the Senses
In the enchanting realm of desserts, there exists a hidden gem known as Doux Doux, nestled just outside Seventeen Mall in Petaling Jaya. Stepping into this whimsical dessert cafe during off-peak hours is akin to finding solace in a serene oasis. The calming ambience, with its gentle lighting and cozy seating, provides the perfect backdrop for an extraordinary culinary experience.
The staff at Doux Doux, ever the connoisseurs of sweetness, are both friendly and delightfully informative. They guide patrons through their dazzling display of French desserts, which stand as works of art in their own right. From the intricately crafted croissant selections to the decadent canolé sets, each creation is a testament to the culinary prowess of these talented pastry chefs.
Ah, but let me digress to the pièce de résistance - the Emerald Hourglass. This competition-winning drink is a true marvel, worthy of the wonderful Wizard of Oz from the spellbinding musical Wicked. A sip transports you to a realm where single-origin coffee reigns supreme. Topped with a layer of meticulously crafted froth, a harmonious dance of pistachio, purple cane tea and their specially made rock melon sugar takes hold, while a sprinkle of fragrant lime zest adds a citrusy pinnacle to the foundation. The taste, my dear readers, is a revelation. The froth gently caresses the lips and tongue, releasing a symphony of sweet and sour notes that blend seamlessly with the rich coffee sensations, creating an unforgettable experience that lingers in the recesses of your mind reminiscing of happier days in the sun, bathing by the ocean in your skinnies sipping coconut and building sandcastles.
It comes as no surprise that Doux Doux is a bustling haven during lunchtime, a testament to their well-deserved popularity. To future patrons, I implore you to plan your visit accordingly, for this extraordinary experience is worth any wait. And fear not, for the impeccable lighting ambience, carefully orchestrated to hit just right, sets the stage for perfect photography and beckons food influencers far and wide.
In the realm of desserts, Doux Doux reigns supreme, capturing the hearts and palates of those who seek beauty and indulgence. I must conclude by saying that Doux Doux is a destination that transcends the realm of mere sustenance. It is an artful celebration of taste, texture, and ambiance that will leave you with a sweet symphony of emotions and an insatiable...
Read moreA new hidden gem located in section 17, right opposite Seventeenmall and the wet market. Very cozy and relaxing atmosphere, great for studying or journaling.
Tried the signature Rhum and vanilla canele, so far it is the best in terms of taste and texture. Crunchy without sticking to your teeth and moist honeycomb interior that isnt too wet. Chocolate and matcha were both a delight as well.
The raspberry souffle was the highlight of the visit, slightly on the pricier side but can tell that only high quality ingredients were used. Fluffy and soft in terms of texture and taste-wise not too sweet with the right amount of tangy-ness from the raspberry. Served with a side of pistachio ice cream which contrasted the temperature of the souffle very well, well done to the team.
Amongst the extensive croissant selection, my buddy and i could only try the almond croissant as we did not want to overorder, the first impression I had was how heavy the weight of the croissant meaning the filling had to be plenty and I was not disappointed. The filling in the croissant had an intense almond flavor and the top was loaded with toasted almond slices.
This is the only place where I can find beautifully executed latte art featuring seahorses and rabbits and solid coffee in terms of acidity and body. Will definitely return for both the pastries and the coffee!!! Highly...
Read moreI just visited today and when I entered the cafe, I don’t feel comfortable seeing the cashier counter area kinda messy with a lot of stuffs on the floor (sorry no pics taken). It’s a nice cafe interior but they should have proper storage arrangements. It does confused me where is the ordering counter and I have to ask one of the staff where I should order and who can take my order. There’s no proper coordination among the staffs too. Another issue is on the way the particular staff handled my food order which is a big NO to me. The staff reheated the canele and croissant, and first she used the kitchen tong to take it out from the toaster BUT later the staff used her bare HAND to transfer it from the tray into take away box. Before that, she has touched her hair using the same hand and I am standing in front of the counter witnessing how my order is being handled. Of course, I have highlighted to the staff and requested to change a new Canele for me which they did, BUT it seems like they don’t get what is the basic hygiene on food handling. Hope the store owner can look into this and provide basic training to the staff to improve...
