E San Thai Kitchen — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Ok managed to finally come here for a hearty Thai meal. Parking is easily available here so no issues. I'm not sure but I'm guessing the restaurant is halal as there were many Muslim patrons. I suggest to call and make reservations as the seating is limited for now. It appears that they are renovating the next door shop and expanding the restaurant. We ordered a number of dishes and I have to say all were good. They even cater for vegetarian diners which not many restaurants do so it was nice as both veg & non veg patrons get to enjoy good Thai food. The service was good although it was just 1 uncle who was manning the store. He took down orders and made good recommendations. Definitely appreciate that. Overall I am happy. Came here because of some good reviews given. But we are very disappointed with the food. IMO the food was not cooked authentic Thai but local Thai style. We had sambal squid, lime steamed siakap, seafood red tom yam, belacan kangkong and green curry beef. The beef was not cut against the grain therefore slightly tough. Our group has only 29pax, for the price paid, I don't expect that kind of food & service quality. For the mango sticky rice ordered, we were served with rotten mango. For the asparagus w shrimp ordered, the shrimp was only cooked at the outside but not the inside. When told, they offered to replace the mango sticky rice with a new plate but we rejected.
