Went over to this place with my parents. 3 of us ordered one main dish for each of us and ordered a few sides to share. Thought it would be a nice and decent place from the exterior but food was a disappointment.
First of all, curry udon was very watery, don’t really taste much of the Japanese curry taste itself. The prawn tempura soba, they put the tempura in the soup and but the time it arrive, the prawn is already soggy. I ordered their best seller, Miyako Soba, picture shows big piece of braised meat but when it arrive, only thin slices of meat, I share one each to my family and I got only left with one.
For the sides, I ordered the charcoal grilled pork belly, chicken karaage, and vege tempura. For the pork belly, it’s rm16 and the portion came was pretty less? But overall the taste was abit too salty on each part of meat, doesn’t feel like it season evenly. Chicken karaage, thought it’s chicken thigh but came chicken breast but that’s fine. Just thought they would have fried small pieces of chicken cubes instead of fried and chop after, all the juices. The vege tempura was the only satisfying dish in overall.
Maybe should’ve just order their skewers instead? Idk if it’s worth...
Read moreI recently dined at Miyako Izakaya in PJ and left really disappointed. The miso soup served was unlike any miso I’ve ever had – instead of seaweed and tofu, it was filled almost entirely with onion and carrot slices. To make things worse, the taste reminded me of an office desk wiping cloth – truly unpleasant and nothing like proper miso.
The curry chicken katsu was another disaster. The curry didn’t taste like curry at all; it was just overloaded with onion again. Honestly, it felt like onion was the main theme of the entire meal – maybe onions are on discount. The curry’s color and texture were extremely unappetizing, looking more like diarrhea than Japanese curry.
Overall, the food presentation lacked care, the flavors were way off, and the experience was not worth the price. I came expecting authentic Japanese food but walked away very dissatisfied. Definitely not a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for genuine Japanese cuisine.

Read moreThis place feels like a nice cozy neighborhood izakaya place. Been here a few times and have not been disappointed. Go for their skewers and their normal food menu. Their oyster ponzu is something you should try. So good. The other dishes I would recommend is the ham and egg onigiri, ham cheese katsu, Imo mochi, cheese korokke and cheese crackers. Goes so well with their Sapporo beer.
The shashimi is decent but nothing to shout about and their lunch set is decent.
I have to say service wise, can be improved to enhance the dining experience.
Price wise is decent and not too pricey. It depends on what you order.
Ambience is decent as it is air conditioned but they do have outdoor seating as well.
Parking can be tricky during peak hours or weekends as there are many other eateries...
