I really DON’T RECOMMENDED this “bistro.” Before deciding to visit, I suggest to take a look on my review first. The food here is OVERPRICED for what you get, and the environment and service don’t live up to the hype. This place is really OVERHYPED !! I saw so many people on Xiaohongshu raving about the food and desserts here, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered an Ichigo shortcake, a garlic cream bun, and an iced matcha latte. At first glance, they looked pretty appetizing, but the experience turned out to be disappointing. For starters, isn’t it typical to serve a cake and a bun on separate plates? Instead, both were placed on a single plate, which was odd but not a big deal. The real issue was with the taste. The cake was dry and overly sweet, while the bun was served cold. Since I ordered at the counter and it took a while for the food to be served, I assumed they were warming up the bun. To my surprise, it came out cold. I was shocked that it cost RM8, considering how bland and unappetizing it was. As for the iced matcha latte, it was surprisingly ordinary for the price of RM17. Given how mediocre the food and drinks were, the pricing felt quite excessive. But it’s fine; I’ll just treat this as an experience. The desserts and drinks turned out much worse than I expected. The decor is nice, but the environment is way too noisy, making it an uncomfortable experience. The seating is cramped, and it’s hard to enjoy a meal in such a crowded space. Also, isn’t it standard for bistro staff to serve dishes with a tray instead of directly handling plates with their barehands? Some customers, like myself, are particular about hygiene. Your cleaning rags and solutions might indirectly come into contact with the inside of the dishes. Even more surprisingly, people online actually recommend making a reservation a month in advance? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who finds this place overrated. Overall, this place seems to be popular mainly because of the hype online and the supposed “amazing” taste. Honestly, it’s not worth the reservation. I was really disappointed and won’t be returning. I think many people are drawn here based on overly positive reviews online, but I’d suggest checking Google reviews for more balanced feedback.

Restaurant Reveiw - Nippori Bistro, Jln 225 - Like they said, high expectation leads to huge disappointment. This is how I summarized my experience at this place. I remember when it first started it always full and you had to queue and make reservation before you can get through their doors. Many people were raving about how good they were. So finally I managed to find time to go there during lunch hour on weekday. It was not too busy. You has to wait for your table. Once you sat down they stressed you out by telling you have one hour to eat and that you have to give up your table after that. (Well, spoiler alert! When I finished my lunch, there was no one else waiting for the table and the place was half empty). It was not a big deal, but it did spoil my mood at the beginning. For the level of placing their restaurant, I feel service level should have been slightly better. I mean the way they communicate and talk to customers. The food was a type of Japanese fusion. Ordered a few of their signature. Well it was not really out of this world. I would say ordinary only. The presentation was good but the tatse was just normal. One dish was even a bit salty for my liking. Then we adjourned to dessert. I had their cake before it was good. But the cake we ordered this time was poor. Very dry. The bill was high. Over RM200 for 2 person lunch. Ouch! Overall, it is a Instagram-able place, if that is your thing. But you can get better food else where and at better value. #foodreview #cafereview #bistro #nipporicafe #cafe #restaurantreview #petalingjaya #bland

We celebrated my sister’s birthday at this Japanese fusion restaurant and had a lovely experience overall. Upon arrival, we were told there would be a wait, so we waited about 30 minutes in our car before being seated. It’s a cozy place with limited seating, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance, especially for special occasions. The restaurant’s interior is uniquely designed and beautifully decorated, creating a charming and memorable dining atmosphere. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of attractive dishes. While the portion sizes are slightly on the smaller side for the price, the great tastes definitely made up for it. Our favorite dish of the day was the thin-crusted smoked duck pizza. It was absolutely delicious and the clear highlight of our meal. We also ordered the seafood pasta and cheese curry rice, both of which were flavorful and satisfying. The matcha latte was another standout: smooth, fragrant, and not overly sweet. We ended the meal with a two interesting desserts, which were beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed by the birthday girl. Service was excellent throughout. The restaurant is air-conditioned, but the vent was blowing directly on us at first. We brought it up, and the staff promptly adjusted it for us and even offered to move us to a different table when it still felt too cold. Overall, it was a great dining experience with delicious food, a lovely ambiance, and attentive service. We’ll definitely be back!
