Came here out of a whim. Located within B.Land. Nice cosy & charming cafe. Simple in decor. Amazing service by the whole team. Welcoming, attentive & accommodating. One of the highlights of our visit. Plenty of parking within the complex. Prices are typical of cafes. Crowded during peak lunch Saturday but we managed to get seats.
Ordered ourselves the ikura ebi sando & the Christmas gnocchi special to share. Took awhile but came hot & fresh. Very good portion sizes. Drinks wise we ordered the matcha soda & apple espresso. Forgot their names. Well made & beautifully presented like a cocktail. They also provide complimentary water which is a plus.
One of the better sandwiches around. From the toasted buttery brioche to the thick ebi patty. Packed with flavor. The fries that came with it were also spectacular. Crunchy yet tender inside & well seasoned. Good on its own. The gnocchi was also really good. Love the lightly fried texture that went well with the sweet pumpkin puree. The furikake was a great touch as it added another dimension to the flavor. It could get cloying/jelak after a while but I really loved it.
Keep up the great work especially the service. Grateful how you took care of us & our little one. Will surely return to try out more dishes. Highly...
Read moreAn out-of-the-way outpost in the 222 semi-industrial zone, this small café isn’t the prettiest spot around, but it has its charm. The neighborhood leans gritty, but the vibe here is bohemian and friendly, with a strong sense of community. It’s especially popular during late lunch, supported by a loyal local crowd.
We ordered the Christmas Gnocchi, Avocado Toast, Mixed Fruit Pancakes, two iced blacks, and a piccolo. The coffees were smooth, balanced, and full of flavor—an impressive 8/10 start.
The dishes arrived with clear attention to presentation, but each recipe felt like it was missing a final touch: • Christmas Gnocchi: Great texture and bite, but the sweetness of the sauce needed a savoury counterbalance—some grated Parmesan would’ve made a world of difference (7/10). • Avocado Toast: Generous guac and salad on a well-toasted sourdough slice, but the bread was a bit dry—some spread or dressing would’ve helped (7/10). • Mixed Fruit Pancakes: Fluffy with a vibrant medley of fruits, but they could’ve used some whipped cream or a similar element to tie it all together (6/10).
Despite these minor tweaks, it’s clear the young team behind this place is putting in solid effort. A little polish and refinement, and this café could...
Read moreI made a call before bringing my puppy over, pets are allowed indoor as long as the pet is in a fully covered stroller. I had an amazing experience since my first step into the space. I was greeted warmly by Kenneth, the founder (I went to Google about Rays to know more🤣), as he gets the door for me. The cafe space wasn't very big but they did a great job in making the atmosphere & layout comfortable. I have to give a shoutout to the attentive staffs and especially Kenneth who was beyond friendly and nice to my puppy. I am delighted to be in such a pet friendly environment. My food was fantastic: Chicken katsu don was well-balanced as the katsu was finished with tartar kinda sauce to reduce greasiness and my coffee was just as expected for the bean they offered. One more thing that’s worth mentioning was one of their kind lady staff offered their Wi-Fi access as soon as I pop out my laptop. I am really satisfied with my visit at Rays that actually ‘shined’ to brighten up my Sunday...
