This is one of my go to nasi lemak places to visit after a day at work. Ask any locals in PJ old town and they might probably suggest this place. They don't serve your ordinary nasi lemak but a goreng version of it. The usual fare consists of the nasi lemak goreng itself with condiments including a ayam goreng rempah, telur, udang and of course the sambal with timun. I love the smokiness of the nasi lemak goreng and how it engulfs each bite with this that smoky taste. The rice itself is grainy like what you would expect from a good nasi lemak but the fragrance of coconut milk and pandan could be fuether enhanced. I think the sambal is somewhat mild with moderate intensity in flavors but pairs well with your rice and ayam goreng nonetheless. The star here could easily be the ayam goreng as it is always served hot and crispy. The aromatics and marination are good and the meat is tender and juicy. While the tastes and flavors could be amped up, this is still a satisfying and comforting nasi lemak goreng...
Read moreMy friend recommended this spot and it sounded amazing. I travelled down from the north to try this amazing take on Nasi lemak but was sadly a bit disappointed. I expected to have a Nasi lemak which was goreng but what I got was like Nasi goreng biasa. I didn't get any santan flavour in the rice. Then expecting Nasi lemak the usual condiments such as kacang, ikan bilis and telur was also missing. I got cucumber and a good tasting ayam goreng berempah. I suppose if I was told it was Nasi goreng ayam berempah with sambal I would have not been disappointed. All in all ok but Nasi goreng was a bit oily plus with the ayam goreng berempah being oily as well together it was too much for me. The servers were friendly and efficient. Parking is available right in front but there is a strong fanbase. Even at 6.30 sharp there was already a long que, come early to avoid disappointment. I guess in conclusion some people really like it but for me this twist on Nasi lemak doesn't work for me. Try it out and decide...
Read moreFirst time when i heard about nasi lemak goreng was the airasia menu. My friend found this from facebook KL foodie, looks attractive and mouth watery. I was there around 7pm and the queue consider long for me. You need to queue to order whether you are eat in or take away. You can order either normal nasi lemak or nasi lemak goreng. If nasi lemak goreng, it comes with one fried chicken and one prawn with sambal and cucumber. The price is RM8, consider cheap for me. If you love to add on chicken only cost at RM4 per piece and add on prawn at RM1.50 each. They have boiled egg and fried egg if you want but sadly they don't have anchovies and nuts. But it was ok for me because overall the taste is superb. But seriously sinful too coz everything is fried. If you want to try, just come early otherwise the queue after 7.30pm will be super long. Also, please note that...
