The food - mouth wateringly delicious. We came in with 6 friends so we can sample the variety. Did not disappoint. Price is reasonable. Service was good and prompt but can be improved in time as the operators learn the local lingo. They are Muslims from China and speak mainly Mandarin and a smattering of Bahasa pasar as they banter with the customers. We used a black and white menu with no pictures as they are still waiting for the printed menu for the older people, but the young have no problem with the online version which showcases the growing range and variety. Operator has two sweet daughters 9 and 4 who go around doodling on sketchpads, giving this a very homely and relaxed environment. Come makan makan lah. They are open during Chinese New Year.

This is our family's second visit. Dined in for a late lunch and were delighted as always. The food was freshly prepared and made to order, which took a bit of time, but it was absolutely worth the wait. We had the braised beef which was incredibly tender and packed with flavour. The stir-fried potato and cauliflower were both cooked to perfection: crisp, well-seasoned, and bursting with authentic taste. A thoughtful touch we loved was the small candles placed under each dish to keep them warm throughout the meal. A lovely dining experience overall! I would highly recommend! Sedap!!

I had dinner at Restaurant Al Kawthar Chinese Muslim Noodle and honestly, it was underwhelming. The ambience was simple and decent enough, but the service was lethargic and slow. The food looked better than it tasted — the hand-pulled noodles were chewy but lacked proper seasoning, making them quite bland despite the chili oil. The dumplings were filling but didn’t have much flavor, and the meat bun was just average. Drinks were okay, but nothing special. Overall, the meal felt uninspired and forgettable. Not impressed, and I doubt I’d return unless major improvements are made.
