In PJ's Paramount Gardens, there are 2 famous kopitiams that have been there for a long time. They are located on an inner road T junction and both are intermediate corner shops. Recently the not as popular left kopitiam had a huge long time due makeover. It is now a very pleasant, well ventilated place to sit down and enjoy your favourite hawker food. There's plenty of tables and the service is polite and efficient. You're also spoilt for choice as there are many hawker delights to choose from. There's curry mee, wanton mee, pork noodles, CKT, BBQ meat rice, yong tau foo, fish head noodles and many more. I have been to try the kai see hor fun (shredded chicken prawn flat rice noodle soup, RM 9.50) and it is above average and reminiscent of the famous Ipoh version. The Hokkien prawn mee (RM 10.00) was not too bad too. I found the Jawa mee (RM 9.00) expensive as there was no other protein except a few slices of egg. But taste-wise, it wasn't too bad. The soup pan mee was decent too but as for the chilli version, I'm still very much a fan of Kin Kin's original version. Overall, it's nice to see kopitiams that are modernised, well ventilated and pleasant to eat in. I did not check out the toilets but the overall outlook is clean. As for parking, it's never easy around this area. I suggest heading to the back of the shops and find a parking space in the residential area. A bit of exercise never did...
Read moreI would said this is a very recommended Hawker Food Stall with all the varieties and good quality of food serving.
First of all, the Curry Mee will be the first recommendations. Delicious curry noodles are a soul-warming, aromatic dish that combines rich, spicy curry broth with slurp-worthy noodles and a medley of flavorful toppings.
The broth is the heart of the dish—creamy, fiery, and fragrant. It’s made from a blend of coconut milk, curry spices, lemongrass, and dried chilies, simmered to perfection until the flavors meld into a luxurious, golden-red liquid that coats your lips with every spoonful. Full Toppings with special homemade curry chicken, much cockles given, tofu puffs that soak up the curry like sponges, pork skin and a handful of bean sprouts with long bean. The lime & sambal (spicy chili paste) on the side bring brightness and heat.
This curry may not be the best in town, but definitely way better than most kopitiam out there and even some cafe in the market with the high price of RM20+…this curry come with no regrets
Beside curry mee, there are many other nice dishes also should give a try like Ipoh Hor Fun, Wanton Mee, Pork Ball...
Read moreOne of the best hawker-style spots I've visited! I visit the place almost twice per week.
Unlike many other similar places, it is opened-air but air-conditioned😅, making it a much more comfortable and enjoyable dining experience—especially on a hot day. The environment is cozy.
Food - I've tried the kai si hor fan, chee cheong fun, fruit rojak, not the best but overall taste good! The chee cheong fun sauce taste salty not like other stall serve sweeter sauce. This is the reason why I will order ot everytime I visit this place.
Drink - the teh / teh c are nice, the kopi for me, it tasted slightly over-roasted / bitter. Hainan toast is nice, I guess they use homemade kaya.
Staff - very attentive and the ordering system is systematic and the speed of delivery is excellent, maybe due to the strong presence of the young boss , who is often there personally overseeing operations. (I can see him evertime I visited the place, walking around and chitchatting with the customers)
A good place for casual meals with friends or family without the...
