Update : 17/06/2019
Chicken and Roast Pork Rice was above average. Chicken was flavourful enough but texture was a little crumbly, not actually tender. Pork skin was crispy with meat tender and flavourful enough.
Toasted bread with butter and coconut jam would be above average too.
February 2019 Passed by this eatery a few times, noticed the crowd so I decided to give this place a try.
White coffee was above average, not really great, a little below my expectation. Toasted bread with margarine and coconut jam was average. Toasted right but I would have preferred a more chewy type of bread, well, at least not so fluffy and crumbly. I felt that it was wrong of them to use margarine, salted butter would have been a tastier and healthier choice.
Update : They actually serve with butter, one has to ask for it.
Made a mistake with the dry Char Siu Won Ton noodles. I should have trusted my eyes and ordered something else. I was expecting to be surprised as there were quite a number of patrons ordering this dish. The Char Siu was a little dry, tough and had a strong tang of preservative. I took only two thin slices and left the rest on the plate. The noddles was average with taste and texture acceptable. Won Ton was barely acceptable.
The curry laksa noodles with roasted pork that my wife ordered came highly recommended by another friend. It fared a little better that the CSWT noodles. Roasted pork was not bad with crunchy skin with meat tender enough. The noodles became soggy too fast. Curry was not of the taste and flavour as we would have expected, it just wasn't done right. An average bowl of curry noodles I'd say. Expected it to be much better.
Not sure if I would drop by again to try other stalls in the future.
The Curry Chicken Bun looked appetizing though, maybe pack one of that another time.

Read moreIf you are looking for a taste of Ipoh in Petaling Jaya, Restoran Sun Yin Loong is the place to go. This kopitiam has been serving authentic Ipoh specialities like curry laksa, shredded chicken hor fun, and white coffee for decades. It has two branches near each other, each with different menus and stalls.
My wife and I visited the branch at Jalan PJU 1/3C on a Monday morning, after finding out that my usual breakfast spot was closed. The place was bustling with customers, but we managed to find a table inside. My wife ordered the pork mee suah noodles soup, which was rich and flavourful, with tender meat and crunchy vegetables. I opted for the Ipoh kai see hor fun, or shredded chicken hor fun, which was smooth and silky, with a fragrant broth and generous toppings of chicken, prawns, and chives. Last trip here, we shared a plate of popiah, which was fresh and crunchy, with a sweet and spicy sauce.
The highlight of our previous meal here was the Ipoh white coffee, which was smooth and aromatic, with a perfect balance of creaminess and bitterness. It was one of the best white coffees I have ever had, and I can see why it is so popular here. The service was fast and efficient, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The only downside was the parking, which was a nightmare. We had to circle around the area for a while before finding a spot.
Overall, we had a satisfying and enjoyable breakfast at Restoran Sun Yin Loong, and we would definitely come back again to try other dishes. This is a must-try for anyone who loves Ipoh food, or just wants a good...
Read moreWent there on Tuesday 28/9/2021 morning around 9.30am for breakfast. My first time dine in this place more than half a year. I ordered 1 cham ice and 1 char keoy teoh with add on extra cockles. The CKT add on extra cockles cost me RM11. After I had the CKT around noon time 11am -12pm. I started not feeling well, as I already suspected I got food poisoning from the CKT with the extra cockles. Around 12pm noon, I was riding LRT from puchong back to kelana jaya. During the journey while waiting for the train to come. I was already feeling nausea and unconscious. Why I said I'm feeling unconscious because while I'm waiting for the train to come. 3 policemen came to me and asked me how am I. I barely can remember how the 3 policemen noticed I'm feeling unwell. If I'm not mistaken, thr 3 policemen were telling me. They looked into the cctv and realised I wasn't in good shape. That's why they came to me. Fortunately the 3 policemen were kind enough, they brought me to the lrt toilet. Once I entered the toilet cubicle, I straight away and forced myself to vomit out everything. Which instantly I felt better. But still I wasn't 100% any feeling better. Until night time around 8pm. I know myself wasn't getting any better. And I went to see doctor. Luckily I got some medicine from the doctor. And I felt better right away. Moral of thr story, please be more cautious when dining in in Aman Suria Sun Hin Loong. Especially the CKT store. I believe the CKT store their hygiene wasn't in...
