sunday 5th Oct, we literally arrived with no wait, no queue bcs there's barely people at that time, we submitted our order at 5:46pm. NO main dish. just sushis. got our foods at 6:21pm. at first, 5:50pm+ like that, only received miso soup thats not even warm, salmon skin so little amount compared to other branches we've tried, not hot, crispy just okay. edamame is fine. then waited more.
my partner asked the guy staff that we haven't get any sushis, waiting for 35mins. even checked the receipt, "what else haven't got"?? on our table its only 3 foods..
why not send out one by one, at least nobody's waiting for that long. right after we asked, 1 min after that wanna send all of it?
we needed to go somewhere else, so we asked to takeaway, the woman packed it and left it at the window (kitchen), she immediately focusing on something else. then we decided to just wait at the counter. for minutess. she came & thought we wanted to pay when we already did. not even an apology that she forgotten? she literally done with the leftovers in the box, just needed to put in the plastic bag & give it to us and she could continue do her work. why needed us to wait more??

SERVICE is the worst of the worst: my friend and i pressed the bell but no one came to our table eventhough the malay female worker saw us while wiping the table (she was wiping the table for a very long time) and nodding her head towards our table to the other staff member. And so I pressed the bell again and it took ages for a malay waiter to come to our table but to not ask us how he can help us, but to take away the robot machine from us. When I told him my friend needs a spoon, he just STARED at me WITHOUT nodding or acknowledging anything (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE). As expected, the spoon never came. FOOD: the food was AWFUL as it took them ages to serve one plate of avocado sushi and tempura soba noodles which wasn't even hot or warm to begin with so what took them so long to cook/prepare?? TO SUSHI ZANMAI STARLING: what are your staffs doing exactly ?? There's not much people when we were eating yet your waiter and waitress all not are inattentive and looked like they don't want to work there. It'll be my first and last time ever eating in this disappointing outler. P.S. TRAIN YOUR STAFFS PROPERLY TO SERVE...

The food quality has also increased greatly, one of the newer menu items is the aburi salmon don and it’s one of the things we frequently order now due to how good it tastes.
Food we’d recommend would be: Aburi salmon don Gyuniku Nabe Nabeyaki Tensoba (we prefer to get it with udon instead of soba as udon’s a lot more chewy and nicer taste wise) Chicken Katsu Curry
I can totally understand the other reviewers complaining about the speed of food sometimes and I hope that people who come here to dine can be a little more forgiving as it seems like they’re severely understaffed.
The service is great, especially Gooi, they’re always so nice and accommodating. You can really tell that the staff here do their best to accommodate the customers but it’s hard when there’s so many people and with the limited number of staff at hand.
