Lighthouse Hotel & Shortstay — Hotel in Petaling Jaya

visit Starling Mall and adjoining businesses while I am in Petaling Jaya.  However I had never known about Lighthouse Hotel until it was pointed out to me by a good friend.

Lighthouse Hotel is situated in a fantastic location considering that its a minutes walk to upmarket Starling Mall and a slightly longer yet walkable distance to 1Utama.

Lighthouse Hotel is surrounded by businesses galore and eateries serving every possible kind of meal.

The Hotel does not have its own parking,  so you will have to park at the public parking lots nearby which are almost impossible to secure during the day.

Just below the restaurant is a coffee shop that sells reasonably priced food.

The service from the Hotel service crew is neither fantastic nor bad,  just alright.

The rooms are ok, but certainly can be much more cleaner. The hotel is showing its age with peeling paint,  lack of water pressure, loose taps and fittings.

Hotel WiFi is terrible,  do not count on it.  Should you get a room without a window you will be hardpressed looking for mobile data.

The TV in the room hardly has any view worthy channels and even then is limited to a couple of...

My wife & I stayed for 2 nights and we found this hotel that was close to our relative house, that we were visiting in SS20 area. It is quite spartan but has the basic necessities for an overnight stay; ie air con and reasonable twin bed, shower and WC facilities, a small fridge ( next to the bed so can be quite noisy, since we did not use it we did not turn it on ). Unfortunately, the TV was snowy but we were there to sleep so it did not bother me though I would have love to watch a bit or catch up on the day news. The plumbing in the basin was making some noise whenever we use it. As the walls are quite thin and the floors are not carpeted, you can hear quite a bit of noise from the corridors and doors slamming shut. Overall, we did manage to sleep well though I have to pay RM3 if I need an extra pillow. Eateries and a shopping mall are very close to the hotel so...

The good:||- Great location, walking distance to many eateries - definitely won't go hungry if you stay here.||- Staff Bi Bi was very friendly and helpful to our room and check-in requests. Thank you!||||The bad:||- Pillows were stained and had some ointment smell left behind by previous guests.||- Bed sheets were also stained, complained to staff but was told there was nothing they could do.||- The air-con in Room 35 was making so much noise, couldn't sleep well - had to request to change to another room the next day - room was not ready until after 6pm. Another staff insisted the air-con was not 'put on silent' mode - hence was making so much noise (Please let me know the logic behind this).
