It is sad to see that the developers are trying to chase out the stall owners by hiking the rentals and making the parking behind more difficult for visitors but they can't chase the customers who loyally come back for good if not great food that have been serving since the mid 80's when Uptown stalls were just stalls lining up the road side.
Popular stalls were and still is Tony's Kueyteow (Gerai Bintang) and Henry's curry mee, Steven Corner's chicken chop, Ah Keong Teluk Intan yong tau foo, Salleh's drink stall, curry fish head, fried oyster omelette, sotong kangkung and taufu bakar and many more.
Don't let this place die as some of the best food stalls started here and is still here. I used to frequent Tony's kuey teow stall when his late father used to do the cooking until Tony himself took over and until his passing last year. The stall has moved towards the front (near the staircase...

Meatball but not meatball, its meatball that used in bakso. Mamak style fried mee not even mamak styled. More like chinese style. Juice drink, superb and delicious. I got 5 lychee in it. Too delicious till I forgot to take picture. Big glass can share with 2 people. Got a brother selling kek batik & cheeskut for small box priced at RM10. Tastes not bad, but I have tasted better batik cake and cheesekut sold at cheaper price.
Place is old and unmaintained hawker stall. Few section has foul smell. Place hygiene is 1.5 over 5……
Will not come again. I feel disappointed with the price. Don’t mind with the price but the food is bad for me. Can find another place that can serve you real meatball with...
Read moreSo many shops had to close down permanently due to MCO. Luckily my 3 go-to favorites still remains open. They are Steven's Corner (Western shop), the Fried Koay Teow a couple of shops away from Steven's same row (run by the uncle and his 2 sons) and the 3rd the Yong Tow Foo shop run by the friendly husband-wife duo and their kids. Portion for Steven's has coleslaw has slightly lessen, egg is smaller. Food quality remains the best on all 3 shops. My sons couldn't get enough of the fried koay teow and their Sotong Goreng tepung 😁
At the initial stage the selections were limited, but now I believe all stocks are back in normal like b4 MCO. Unfortunately, the uncle and auntie that run the Sotong Kangkung & Kerang Rebus shop is...
