Volcano Shabu Shabu & Grill — Restaurant in Putrajaya

I’ve been coming to this place for a while now throughout 2022 and 2023. The quality and service has definitely dropped. I will go issue by issue.

Upon arrival, the front desk cashier/supervisor was not around. We had to inform someone for him to come. That’s fine cause that day the crowd was busy. But it irks me when there was a female chef who saw us from the kitchen, she just glanced and didnt even bother to call the supervisor.

When the supervisor came, he did not say anything, gave us a death stare guys! And we had to initiate saying we want buffet for 5 people.

After we got our table, it was around 8:30pm and some foods were not replenished (and were never replenished) like chocolate cake, tiramisu, bread and butter pudding. We asked for some food to be replenished and the junior staff did not really know what we wanted until we had to show a picture from google. He said they never had that item in their buffet but we have been coming here many times that’s why we know what was regularly offered.

The woman who was in charged of grilling went missing by 9pm. People who had just arrived couldnt have the grill.

The slices cold beef are not fresh, after cooked in soup the beef was not edible. My brother also got one fishball that had turned bad.

The most disappointing thing is my soup was bland, tawar! Ive tasted the same soup many times and this time it was like water. The food quality here really bad compared to before.

When we complained to the junior staff, altho he was nice, he gave unreasonable excuses like the crowd was busy (the buffet had already prebooked by hotel guests that had seminar that day- so they were anticipating more crowd, they could have prepared for more staff on the floor and more food). And the restaurant is so big, why make a big buffet area if you cant cope with crowd that is half large the size of the restaurant?

What’s worst is that the only one apologising is the junior staff, they supervisor buat muka toya saja as usual. No thank yous and sorrys. The junior staff sampai tunggu depan pintu to say sorry. What a lousy supervisor, but dia memang unfriendly pun since awal kita pergi but this time worst. Please la, this shabu2 is under mercure hotel, but management worst than warung.

Awesome. Beyond my expectation. Very friendly and attentive staffs. Choice of food was ok but worth the price. More varieties on cooked food. Choices of soup is more compared to other places. I like their concept of providing separate stove for each individuals and can be control easly by us. Good choice of steamboat items. Their cooked food was also nice. Dont miss their prawn sambal...its was really awesome. Good pair with their nasi goreng. Grill chicken and satay was tempting too. Good idea of keeping fish and chicken slices. Good variety of sauces too. Nice sushis but can be improve with more choice. Same goes to dimsum...its tasty but only 2 flavors available. Small and nice salad bar with dressings. Also available pizza and breads. For closing the also have varities of cut fruits and not to miss their choices of ice creams and toppings. Choice of drinks is also available. Out of all I truly like the ambience and the setup of the shop. Very classy and decent with wonderful staffs. I will surely come back again with my office mates. They are good to accomodate about 300 pax with separate rooms available. The only things I felt to improve is, pay before eat. I think it should be vice versa. Other than...
