We were looking forward to a nice meal as this was my Plus One's birthday and we were in KK sorting out some logistics of my youngest. Booking a table was easy and we were given choice of 615 or 630 or 8PM...and being early eaters, had to take the 630PM slot - there was no slots for 7 PM or a bit later but that was fine. When we arrived, we were the 1st table there - greeting pleasantly and ushered to our "reserved" table - with table settings for 3. I noticed that none of the other tables had table settings but thought that that would be done once it was occupied. Anyway, we ordered for our starters - the Lamb Croquettes & the Fresh Mozzarella salad but unfortunately had to change the salad as the Mozzarella salad was not available. The birthday girl ordered a Margherita with my youngest venturing to try the Sangria. For mains, we ordered a pasta, the Salmon and the Lamb Ribs. Tastewise, all the items hit the mark and as a F&B person, the Caesar salad could have been more flavourful with tastier croutons but i digress. We also ordered the Tiramisu and the Pannacotta.
My one disappointment was the service - we were the first table and only 1 other table came into the restaurant. While we were eating our starters - not even started on the Lamb Croquettes - the pasta was served joined soon after by the Salmon. Not wanting to spoil the occasion, i did not make any comments. The Lamb Ribs came once my youngest's pasta was nearly finished.
Either the server did not specify, which items were starters or the person managing the kitchen "fired" /ordered to cook the mains in a haphazard manner, for the price you pay, you would assume food ordered as mains would be served together and bit after the starters were nearly finished. Having 2 mains served when we were just served the Lamb starters is not the standard you would expect from a restaurant with so many good reviews and high prices for food.
If we ever return to this establishment, I would emphasise that we would like starters to be served first and mains to be served together. There was no dinner rush - only 3+5 diners in a restaurant which can take about 30 pax.
My Plus one & daughter not being F&B trained or critical just enjoyed the food and the occasion. So just for their enjoyment, i did not make any comment but i hope this is helpful to the Management as service consistency is the key to being not just a good restaurant but a restaurant remembered and mentioned as a place to go for...
Read moreI’ve been to Kinsly more than five times and it USED TO BE one of my favourite Western cuisine restaurants in KK.
I was there for a birthday celebration on 08 Feb 2025 and was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that both my friend and I suffered from very serious FOOD POISONING.
We ordered:
Pumpkin soup A set of Korean oysters Burrata pesto pasta Miso-glazed salmon 2 glasses of Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc I was also gifted a serving of their tiramisu cake by my family friend sitting at the table across the room.
My friend and I have been experiencing the same symptoms for the past 3 days (vomiting, diarrhea, fever, cold sweats, and gastric issues)! It was terrible and I am truly disappointed with how they are managing this situation. My friend reached out to their management team via message on the 10th of February and today is the 13th, and I have yet to receive any apologies or follow-up on this! It’s honestly unacceptable.
To top this off, I was quite upset during the dinner when I was served 2 glasses of red wine when I had ordered Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc. When I mentioned this to the waiter, she looked very clueless. This shows the lack of staff training when the staff have no knowledge of what they are serving. When they changed it to the right wine, I found a layer of grease in my glass and what the staff claimed to be “cork residue” in my friend’s glass. Honestly, if they are charging RM45 per glass and labelling their wines as “premium pours” shouldn’t more attention be invested to what’s being served?
We were also harassed by a customer during our dinner at Kinsly. This man was talking extremely loudly, harassing my friend and I by attempting to join us and have a bite of my cake, and also using very inappropriate language when asking the kitchen staff to serve him his oysters that he claimed made him “horny” when there were families and kids sitting in the restaurant. When we asked the staff to manage the situation, we were told that “he’s just like that, a bit mental.” I’m so confused – are customers coming to Kinsly supposed to pay for their meal and put up with this kind of clown show?
I am still experiencing very bad gastric issues and upset GI from the food poisoning today. This has seriously affected my work schedule as I am unable to attend to my clients as a business owner. I expect a sincere apology and some form of resolution for...

Let’s talk about the food 1st. Soup presentation 5/5, 4/5 for taste, 3/5 temp n 4/5 size, overall very nice indeed. The bread that came along with the soup was toasted which is a nice touch. Rm13
House burger special, rm48 if m not mistaken. Presentation 3/5, 3/5 for taste, 3/5 temp n 3/5 size. My ultimate burger experience that tick all the boxes is a 10oz hardrock burger valued a whopping rm80. It’s full of flavour that every bight puts a smile on my face n I base all burgers on that. Kinsly burger was a little sad cos the plate was very simple n needed sum colour like sum veggies n more fries. Their fries are sum of the best, so kudos on that. Buger had n strange taste due2 the mustard used which hits u like a wasabi. The beef was a little dry for me n had no zest, it just tasted like beef n u want it 2hv a little mo punch. I always eat my burger with my hands n this was no exception n towards the end the burn started to crumble n reverted to using my knife n fork. Overall not bad but I expected mo for the price.
Tiramisu rm13 was soft n melted in your mouth n came with coffee cream which is a 1st for me n a nice touch. presentation 4/5, 4/5 for taste, 3/5 temp n 5/5 size.
Coffee latte n earl gray tea super nice, had a refill of hot water for my tea.
Kinsly, pound n jojo are under the same management so expect similar menu’s with A5 Japanese wagyu beef n a good selection of win. Pricing for this 3 outlets are similar n a standard meal will fetch u around RM100 depending on what u choose. I paid just over rm300 for 3pax. It sits on a single shop-lot nicely designed with direct eye view of the kitchen which is nice but expect to smell of fried food wen u leave the joint. A glass screen wld hv been nice to separate the kitchen from the dinning area. Be sure to book as they hv limited tables, I believe 8 tables. Overall a nice evening with nice food n will...
