When it comes to chicken rice and curry rice, Chopsticks is the yardstick by which all other eateries in town are evaluated. Chopsticks has been consistently serving appetising fare since about two decades ago when it was located next to HSBC. The rice remains flavourful without getting too greasy. Also consistent in taste are its signature steamed chicken - satisfyingly velvety to the palate. But the potatoes in the curry are sometimes not well cooked, while the curry needs the tanginess and aroma of curry leaves. Making its debut is a dimsum corner featuring staple Cantonese bites. For years, I've had to get steamed rice rolls at a stall in Tabuan Jaya in Kuching. Now they're sailing in on boat-shaped plates in Sibu, and the portions are satisfyingly larger. The nasi lemak special is served by members of a Chinese-Melanau family. It comes with a generous portion of sambal, with above average spiciness and subtle hints of sweetness. Nasi lemak runs out early because of advance bookings by students and office workers. (Oct 2024) New stall offers a variety of homemade flat rice noodles. Very chewy. The chicken curry that came with what I ordered hinted strongly of curry herbs, although it was cooked with premixed ingredients. With several changes to the menu, the dimsum corner no longer offers steamed rice rolls. The memory of my tastebuds took a direct hit... (Nov 2025) Kuching popia available, and it's much more filling than the local version. At least three times the circumference. Ingredients...

Kampua (Non-halal). The place has a new kampua stall replacing the old husband and wife team not so long ago (around July 2025).
From what I sampled on 2 separate occasion, not bad even though not the best but somehow the taste kept me coming back for it. Taste was very consistent, nice mild lard flavor, straight noodles, soft texture, not too salty, a bit greasy but that is what it should be. A little bit soupy, good serving portion and okay toppings.
At RM4.50/bowl, it was affordable and cheaper compared to some of its rival around the area.
Onto drinks. Not much of improvement, ordering drinks was fast but getting your drinks served and payment change back still very slow, on 1 occasion after finishing my meal, I went to the counter personally to ask for the balance.
Coffee, tea still tasted bland and expensive. I don't mind paying if it tasted nice but no. If you are looking for good coffee or tea, go elsewhere instead, just not worth it.
The place can get crowded after 7:00am, even parking can be a problem. Hence would only go there early and on odd days.
Also take note of smokers, you will find quite a few of them puffing away without considering presence of others. I guess council 's ruling still not...

Kampua stall (non halal). Before the MCO/Cv19 situation, kampua mee here was good and tasty. Nowadays it was a bit off, and no longer tasted like it used to.
However, it was still acceptable. Noodle's texture was still okay, straight strand and soft, good serving portion and topping for the money (RM4.00 cheap).
The stall's business was still very good, prepare to wait for 20mins to 40mins or more before serving. So come early before 6:45am or after 8:30am and avoiding weekend and holidays. Recommended if you do not mind waiting.
Drink stall. Coffee, tea and other made to order drinks all below average, tasted bland and overpriced. Table ordering service was fast but getting your ordered drinks served and payment's balance back was slow and can be...
