I recently had the pleasure of attending the roasting course offered by Earthling's Coffee Workshop, and it worked out perfectly with the Coffee Consulate. I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.
The course instructors were highly knowledgeable and passionate about the art of roasting. Their expertise and willingness to answer questions made the learning environment engaging and interactive.
The hands-on practical sessions were invaluable. We had the opportunity to roast our own batches and experiment with different techniques. The instructor, Kenny & Flo, provided personalized guidance, helping us understand the nuances of temperature control, time management, and flavor development. It was a fantastic way to apply the theory learned and gain practical skills.
The course materials were comprehensive, well-organized, and easy to follow. They exceeded my expectations and provided a strong foundation for my future endeavors in the coffee industry.
I highly recommend this roasting course to anyone who is passionate about coffee and wants to enhance their knowledge and skills in the art of roasting. It's a worthwhile investment that will undoubtedly take your coffee journey to new heights!

Read moreA nice coffee cafe to get fresh roasted beans. The barista professionally recommended the beans to me as I shared what is my personal preference. He further explained the profile of other single origin beans. I enjoyed the sharing from the barista about the establishment of Earthlings and their 10years work in Sarawak.
One of the signature beans of this coffee shop is their Liberica beans, that was planted, harvested, processed and roasted locally. The owner has did a tremendous research to get the optimal roasting method for the Liberica beans to get the best roasted beans. Liberica beans is limited in the west Malaysia market. Psst…. I have a pack of the bean to be brought back to West Malaysia 😂😆. They even initiated the Third Wave Speciality Coffee Movement in Sarawak.
They are selling the coffee gadget such as Hario V60 pour over, the gooseneck kettle as well as other coffee equipment.
There is a lab in the cafe with a transparent glass where the guests can see how was the fresh bean being roasted. I was not lucky to be able to watch the roasting process. However, I am thrilled to just see the lab over a layer of glass screen.
The visit to this shop further spur my passion and interest in specialty coffee. A short visit is not sufficient for me to learn all their history and current works. I look forward to visiting this place in the...

I visited for a causal business meeting & decided to have the Matcha Latte rather than my usual Cafe Latte as coffee caffeine late in the afternoon messes with my sleep.
My beverage was served in a lovely ceramic cup that hinted tradition & culture. The color was a earthy green & the matcha tasted deep, despite being blended with frothed milk. They used good matcha & they're not stingy about it too. My singular complaint was that they ruined the beverage with... Sugar.
What is this place? Starbucks? A boba tea shop? If I'm willing to pay more than RM10 for a matcha drink, I damn well want to taste matcha. All of your matcha goodness. Neat. Sugar changes the entire composition & obstructs the most pleasurable part of drinking matcha... The dry earthy aftertaste. A spiritual reconnection with the earth that the Japanese have enjoyed for centuries WITHOUT sugar.
Please stop serving your matcha latte with sugar. Give your patrons an educational experience like you do with your espresso. Give them the sugar at the side. Not...
