We were at Serapi Garden Cafe for a birthday celebration tonight, my friends are not local and it was bad representation of our local services. Disappointment 1: Booking was a bit difficult with the staff there the day before, he seem uninformed about the MCO's KKM SOP with the max pax per table. The bigger the table, the more pax it can sit. Vice versa. We asked for join tables. It's not rocket science. Disappointment 2: We decided on the food a day before the event, yet we were told that they will not serve the agreed fruits. Why bother to put it in the menu when you cannot deliver it? Disappointment 3: Our food was served, even without asking/clarifying with us should it be served, is it so hard to ask? The birthday gal haven't even arrive yet. 😂 Disappointment 4: Staff not helpful and attentive, we informed them to serve the cake after we finish our main meal. Alas, no one bother to serve us until I give a signal, which they blankly stared at me. Then walking to me which I told him that he can serve the cake now. Disappointment 5: At the payment counter, we wanted to use VISA Paywave for the bill, but to our terror they said they prefer PIN. What on earth just happened?!? I HAVE NEVER been ask like that before, imagine how awkward and dumbfounded I was. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to most people, not unless you want to go through what...
Read moreI had dinner at Bonfire at Serapi Garden which is located behind Hartz Chicken, Jalan Satok. The place isn't hard to find but to get there requires some twists and turns. The parking space is not too much but also not too little, parking spaces around the area is also available.
The place has a rustic vibe to it with cement floors, wooden and metallic tables and chairs with simple but true to the aesthetic deco.
The amount of dishes available is decent, apropo of a western-focused place while also having local favourites dishes. The price range is quite high which also includes the beverages.
I ordered the Cheezy Chicken Chop, Nasi Kambing Bakar Gula Apong and Bonfire Fried Rice. The cheezy chicken chop was okay but honestly tasted slightly bland. The Nasi Kambing Bakar Gula Apong, as mentioned in the name is marinated/cooked with gula apong but I didn't taste it as much. The lamb also majorly had fatty parts to it which was difficult to swallow. The Bonfire Fried Rice had a smoked, peppery taste to it to the point I couldn't enjoy it and the smokey/spicy taste lingered. That was only what I could taste.
The vibes of the place is great however I wished the food had more flavor...
Read moreStepping into Bonfire was a treat, with a great atmosphere that set the stage for what promised to be a fantastic meal. We dove straight into the heavy hitters, and for the most part, they delivered! The Beef Brisket was a true standout – beautifully nicely smoked with a great char, it was superb paired with its accompanying gravy, and the portion was just right. The Lamb Chop was equally impressive, arriving as a hefty portion with nicely fried fries and a good char on the chop itself, making every bite super tasty. We also enjoyed the Beef Brisket Burrito, which offered a good portion and came with more of those delicious nicely fried fries and a super tasty cheese sauce. Even our drinks, the Chai Latte and Mango Juice, were perfectly refreshing. The only peculiar downside to an otherwise excellent meal was that the food arrived a bit cold at our table. Despite this minor hiccup, the fantastic flavors and generous portions truly shone through. We'd definitely recommend it for a satisfying,...
