Nasi Aruk Ayam Penyet = RM14.70 Sago Gula Apong = RM5.00 No Service Charge.

Nasi Aruk is a Sarawakian-Style Malay Fried Rice Technique that uses Little to No Oil during Frying as compared to Nasi Goreng. When I checked with my Malay Colleagues, no one has ever heard of this in Singapore so I'm really intrigued by this.

This Restaurant also seems to be quite popular. You know you've Struck Gold when you ask about this place and Grab Drivers all speak fondly of it.

The Restaurant itself is Beautifully Furnished and looks like I've stepped into Someone's Private Home. The Staffs are Friendly although they're probably understaffed as me and a few other customers had to wait quite a while when its time to pay at the Cashier at the end of our Meal.

The Dish itself is very Beautifully Presented as you can see. The Rice really doesn't taste Overly Oily. Neither does it taste Dry and it has a somewhat stickier consistency.

There is a Very Deep Haebee Smell and the Taste is Noticeably Salty and Complex with a Tinge of Spiciness. This is Very Well Made. Just the Rice alone is Delicious by itself!

The Ayam Penyet is Deeply Spiced, Not Overly Oily at all and taste really nice, although I felt the Meat was a little bit on the Dry Side. The Little Crispy Spicy Bits have what looks like Fennel Seeds. It's a really Big Fat Drummy and Pairs Beautifully with the Nasi Aruk. Layers of Spice upon Spice. 浓浓的马来风味

Condiments are a Sharp Salty Minced Haebee and some Onion Dark Soy Sauce that is Bitingly Spicy and Savoury. There is also a Beautiful Leaf Herb on the side that I'm not sure what the name is. It has a very Strong Sharp Taste with a Mangoey Aftertaste. Very interesting. I don't know if you're supposed to eat this Herb, but eating this together with the Rice adds another Dimension to the Dish.

Overall, this is an Absolutely Well Crafted, Designed and Very Filling Dish that I can Easily Recommend.

The Sago Gula Apong is a Very Milky and Creamy Cold Dessert and the Sweetness is Just Nice, Not Too Sweet. Eating this felt like a Palette Cleanser and was a Nice Break from the more 重口味 Ayam Penyet.

With a total price of RM19.70 (S$5.80) without any Service Charge for this Excellent Quality, this is Absolutely Worth the Money to come give this a Try. Highly Recommended!

Bit crowded during lunch time. Honey lemon tea and teh peng tasted good. Sago gula melaka was delicious. Ayam penyet was yummy with crispy bits of spices. Sambal ok just tad sweet. No tempe or tauhu as per usual ayam penyet set. Nasi aruk bunga kantan never arrived (after almost an hour waiting) so we decided to cancel order. Took quite sometime for the waitress to check with the kitchen. Apparently the other waiter took the order to wrong table. She apologised for the mistake. We followed her to the cash machine as we want to pay and leave. Behind us got one guy also queue to pay. Suddenly one married old Malay couple jumped over the queue & asked to pay for 2 tables. Instead of asking the old couple to wait, she entertained them so meticulously as they paid for 2 tables with 2 different receipts. After the old couple left (not even say sorry to us waiting), the waitress look for the order ticket for the guy behind us. She clearly saw me in front of the counter but chose to entertain him first. Feeling frustrated, I put 50 ringgit note under the toothpicks bottle and left. Hope the management look seriously into the poor service by the waiter and the waitress. No point of having tasty dishes if the service cannot keep up with the food...

I wasn't like this restaurant. Not because of their food but because of the attitude or the workers at this place. One of the workers at this place misinterpret and accused something that i didn't even think of. He's older than me but that doesn't mean that he can disturb my privacy like asking questions that make me feeling uncomfortable. Keselesaan pelanggan is your priority but then how can your worker boleh accused us with the things that we don't even have intention to say. It's quite rude and your worker did not respect your pelanggan and bukan sekali je ehh, most of the time saya pergi situ, the way dia layan pelanggan lain pun agak kasar. Maybe dia biasa dgn cara itu, tapi bagi pelanggan tidak. Hope that this restaurant can improve this kind of attitude in this worker so that barulah pelanggan selesa nak duduk makan. Tak kisah lah if you wanna make a joke or whatsoever, please respect us as pelanggan. I'm totally disappointed with your...

I still got good nasi ayam penyet after a year and a half but no more soup. Why so cheapskate? This guy is still rude (the one taking order and sometimes become the cashier). Last year, I came here about half an hour after they opened. We wanted the tasty Roti Bom Cheese but this same guy said "You came too early. Our staff who can make roti bom is still not here bah. Eat other stuffs". What the heck? You should follow the business hours you stated, for god sake, change your business hours if you and staffs were not ready! Recently, I made a call to order. When I got there, he asked loudly "Are u sure u ordered? U didn't speak to me on the phone. You don't know if it was me who answered" thank goodness the other guy came and said here's your order miss. If not, I slap this guy. This restaurant is lousy too. All sorts of e-wallet payment scan code are there, but none works they said because of no maintenance. Bad... so terrible

First meal i had after landing in sarawak. Had no idea what nasi aruk was so I googled, its Sarawak's version of nasi goreng. Ordered it because why not Oh my god, ITS SO GOOD. Its lighter than nasi goreng, but definitely superior than plain rice. Everything went well with it. I ordered with ayam penyet. Crunchy juicy chicken 🤤 For dessert i ordered sago gula apong. Marvelous. I'm only in sarawak for a few days and would like to try as many dishes as possible, but i keep on thinking about this nasi aruk. I might repeat it 🤣 Ambience of this place feels nice, i really like it and recommend it!

The food is great. I love my nasi penyet but I waited very long for my food. I tried my friend nasi kerabu which is as good. I saw another group of people on the opposite table left frustrated after waiting so long. A good cozy place to hang out and catch up with friend. Lovely ambience and very homey feeling. I would come back to wait for my food.
