Bonus - Kuala Selangor detour!

On our way back to Klang Valley, I could not help but to crave for more seafood. She seemed to be in the same boat with me, so I decided to use the coastal road of Kuala Selangor on the wat instead.

We timed out journey properly and soon we arrived at our favourite seafood restaurant, Suang Le, located in Bagan Pasir which is somewhere in between Sekinchan & Pasir Penampang.

Essentially a wooden shack built on wooden platform, they have since upgraded and expanded the dining area to accommodate more diners. The availability of seafood is depending on the fishery nearby - on good days, more choices are available but do call to enquire if possible. No guarantee!

◾Salt baked mantis shrimp - we ordered 10 pieces this time to be shared by the two of us as the young ones didn't like seafood. Their loss - the meat was so succulent and sweet to sink my teeth in. I would have ordered second helping if not for other dishes. ◾Deep fried sotong 仔 - normally I would order to be cooked with sweet sauce but I wanted the regular deep fried this time. I could not stop munching. ◾Blanched cockles - her face was brimming with happiness when we were informed of the availability. Simply blanched and served with chilly sauce. Bliss! ◾Steamed flower crabs - no roe crab this time so we opted for lesser meat but sweeter flesh flower crabs. Satisfied out crab craving! ◾Stir fried vermicelly with clam 沙白 - we ate the plump and juicy clams while the young ones feast on the flavourful meehoon. ◾feel free to get a packet of their deep fried keropok to munch on while waiting for your food which could take considerable time if they are packed.

I have come here for more than 20 years and never once I left disappointed unless they ran out of seafood. Perfect conclusion my...

DODGY BEWARE TOURIST TRAP !!! Cheated ! Cooking is atrocious and roughly cook. Owner is DISHONEST when it comes to seafood and pricing . No menu given just dodgy black market from the mouth. Seafood is not fresh ( old stock) and when they see your tourist they cut throat you high prices. Steam fish head become braised chilli fish and I think to get rid of the smell. Overcooked Prawns ( not fresh and small portion) became curry sauce not butter sauce . Okra became slimy and old , little portion . Rice portion wasn’t proportion well and cold. Crab’s seasonings is black and burn with the over roasted garlic and hae bee and worst part gave you a big crab ( OLD) when we requested for small and so spicy. Lots of crows and birds around! Surrounding area filled with rubbish in the river alleys and stray dogs and owner wearing dirty clothes like kampong style . NOT RECOMMENDED ! Poor hygiene ( servers smoking in one hand and serving you food in another hand) and the chef must have left and gotten some poor inexperienced person who doesn’t know how to cook. Inflation has really kick in and I support the one star...

Just went there this afternoon for lunch with family, the old man who took our order was being really pushy, trying to get us to order crab/fish/prawns, we did not want any of that so we asked for more recommendations, and he continues to push for crab/fish/prawns, we insisted to not have any of that and ordered something else, after 15mins of waiting, we were told that one of the items that we ordered was not available, and if fish is okay as a replacement, which we already told earlier, we did not want, the old man continued to be pushy, but we insisted again that we do not want any, we then waited for an additional 45mins (1 hour total wait time after ordering), still no food arrived yet, asked the old man if the food is being prepared, and if not, then we would like to cancel and leave, he disappears again, and we finally got fed up, paid for our beers that we ordered, and left.

Came here previously and the service was bad but atleast the food came out after about 45mins of waiting, food quality and taste is good too, such a shame that this visit will...

Fresh seafood are always the best and if the ingredients are day caught you hardly need much effort to make a mouthwatering dish. Today I’m naming these few dishes that we had as follows: Saltwater steam meat crab ( creamy roe is of course the added bonus), plain tap water steam la la (must be sizable) with lots of ginger and green onions and finally to add a bit flavour we ordered the chilli slat baked mantis prawns ( ordered 3 pairs and 3 each for two of us to share ). Didn’t even bother to order anything else except plain white rice so that we could soak the rice and drink the soup from the steam dishes. 😂😂😂😂😂 not to forget a cold bottle of beer to chase it down

Overall a good experience with the food. 5 stars for the food. The must try are their kam heong crab, steamed mantis prawn and salt & pepper prawn. Seafood were fresh and priced reasonably. 3 stars for the long waiting time. Do take note that it can take up to 1.5 hours wait during peak period especially on weekends and holidays. However if you're there and able to wait, perhaps do it for the first time. Personally, I'll return again but not during peak period. PS Parking is very limited and in a tight alley. Can park at the side of main road and walk in a 100m to the restaurant.
