Previously i came here, my cordon bleu was undercooked. Then i came back 2 days ago, entered and went straight to the cake counter to see what's available before i seated myself with the kids. Then, 1 waitress came and simply say "kita ada delivery". Clueless, i asked "maksudnya?". She said will be closed for 30 minutes. I questioned, there was no signage whatsoever and nobody said anything when i entered, walked to the cake counter, and sit. She said "memang kita akan cakap kat customer". Few things to highlight here:
(1) poor communication. Who would understand when somebody simply come to their face and say "kita ada delivery". Delivery apa? Untuk siapa? Bila? Kenapa? Apa kena mengena dengan aku duduk kat situ dan kau punya delivery? Please inform customer in full. (2) slow motion! Should have approached upon me entering, or when I'm looking at the cakes, to inform that you guys are closing for 30 minutes!
Only when I'm getting up with my kids, she said "kalau nak makan cake dan minum je boleh la". What the? That was what i came here for! It's tea time and i just finished my shopping and therefore looking for a cake time to treat my sons. Didnt even bother or know to ask customer whether i was there for cakes or if i intend to order hot meals?
Looking at other reviews, i guess im not the only one. Many other makan shops there didnt survive. Secret Recipe is probably next!
I walked out and told her off, that im not eating cake there anymore since u already chase me out earlier. I went to chocoloco. Super friendly staff, great chocolatey desserts. Will never step foot in SR aeon mall...
Read moreI visited Secret Recipe at AEON Mall Seksyen 13, Shah Alam with my family on 20th February 2025 around 8:00pm, and the experience was disappointing. We were asked to scan a QR code to submit our order. After doing so, we waited a long time while other customers who arrived after us got their orders.
A waiter then came to ask if we only ordered fried chicken and juice, showing a wrong slip. One waitress said it was a mistake but didn’t explain anything. I called her to check on our order, and she told me the system was down, so our order hadn’t been prepared, even though new customers were already getting their food?
It was frustrating that no one told us about this earlier. If I hadn’t asked, we probably would’ve been ignored. The staff should have focused on preparing pending orders when the system came back online. Instead, the waitress told me to order manually using the physical menu, even though she had said the customers new orders were being processed by the system? I showed her that the kitchen had already received our order earlier, but she seemed confused and gave an unhelpful response, saying there were only two staff working and they couldn’t prepare orders quickly.
Secret Recipe, please improve your customer service. Your staff should be trained to communicate better and handle situations like this properly. Customers shouldn’t feel ignored, especially due to technical issues. Staff should have taken the time to prioritize pending orders.

Read moreI visited this outlet today to have some cake and was very disappointed with the service. When I asked at the counter whether we could dine-in just for cake, the staff said yes, but then no one bothered to ask what cake we wanted. The cake display was right beside the counter, and although we stood there for quite some time, it felt as if we were invisible. Several staff members walked past without acknowledging us, and even the staff who had initially spoken to us did not follow up, despite the counter being free at that time.
In the end, we gave up and placed our order online through the QR code at the table, even though we had been told that ordering at the counter was possible. When the cake was served, no spoon was provided. A staff member said they would bring one, but never returned. We tried to call another staff member who was standing nearby, even raised our hand and waved, but she seemed inattentive and unaware of her surroundings. Finally, I had to approach her directly to request a spoon.
This level of service was very disappointing. I strongly suggest management provide proper customer service training to the team, especially in attentiveness and basic service etiquette. I sincerely hope the service improves in the future, as the food deserves better...
