TheFOODtree Restaurant, Glenmarie — Restaurant in Shah Alam

I have come here numerous times previously. And back then the prices were still berbelas belas ringgit per meal. So for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) still rm50. This is early 2023.

However today (31.12.2023) we came again for lunch, where there's only 4 tables (including mine), the service was horrendous.

The prices hiked up. Fair enough. Everywhere is like that. But the PORTION became smaller. The taste? Fair. Not bad, but not something like I'd come back for.

Service? The waiter and even the manager couldn't describe the menu properly (all were foreigners on the floor that day).

So we ordered 3 dishes. 2 came within 13-18min. Mine came 37 minutes. (Yes I OCD count my meal to reach me in all restaurant). Rm27 for 3 small rice portion. (Oh my blood pressure)

Will I come again? Maybe. when my kids berguling² request for dinosaur. But not for a full meal. Maybe just for platter or such.

This is my first time coming to this restaurant. Honestly the idea is great. With a dinosaur themed restaurant that look almost real. However, firstly the waiter did not understand anything. They’re foreigner who doesn’t speak malay or even simple english. And secondly once we enter the restaurant it was already half dimmed. The other part of the place was a bit dark and we could not enjoy the half part of the dino as if they’re not part of the restaurant. And then we got lucky just because during our dining time, there was an influencer or food reviewer who came to do review on this restaurant. After that only they switch on all lights and the sound of the dinosaurs. I find that it’s not fair because we paid the food to be served together with the ambience. And the food also was served half heartedly unlike when they served food to the influencer. Siap susun and treat them nicely. You guys should improve on treating everyone equally and improve on how to attract more customers to enjoy the food and...

Overall food was ok especially the curry laksa and Nasi kerabu with fried chicken. The price slightly on the high side. The Ipoh hor fun and mac and cheese was so so. It is kids friendly cafe where there are a lot dinosaurs around that you can take pic and some painting paper activity for kids to do while waiting for food. However the food serve quite slow and we waited quite long for waffle. When I was paying at the counter, I saw the waffle making machine was not on means they haven’t started to make yet. So I asked to cancel and they said I cannot cancel. I said since you haven’t even started to do why can’t I cancel. Probably the chef in kitchen overhead that I was standing at the counter. He told them that is ok for me to cancel. I’m ok if you being honest to me if the food is already done I can take it, but not even started to make and you don’t allow to cancel.
