Black Horse Cafe — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Have been visited a few times to this restaurant. The first visit was surprisingly good. Very aromatic and thick real mushroom soup is definitely the highlight. The portion of the chicken chop is not big for its price, but it’s so tender and juicy. Thumbs up. Second visit order salmon steak, it was very good also, generous portion and tender salmon steak with crispy skin. Ordered lamb shank and it’s very tasty too! After that we ordered for delivery, the food is not as good but still acceptable. Perhaps it’s delivery and the quality of food is not as good as dining in but we are ok with that. Yesterday we visited black horse again, what I can say is, the food quality is totally not to the level of what we had before. When my salmon steak serves, it 2 very thin pieces. If it tasted good, it’s ok also as the taste is more important than its portion for me.But The salmon steak taste very very fishy. I can’t continue eating it anymore immediately after my first bite. And that’s confirmed 2 pieces of overcooked salmon. The steak is very hard. It’s like overcooked/recook pieces. Very disappointed. The skin is not crispy at all, it’s so soft and chewy until I can’t bite it off. The chicken chop also very hard and not juicy at all. The mushroom soup we like the most initially, was very diluted and oily, we can see the oil floating on it and not as thick as the one we being served during our first visit. We are so disappointed and ask the manager to inform on the salmon issue which is think is the most serious as it can’t be eaten at all. Manager admitted it Might be over cook but they insisted the the salmon pieces are fresh. It taste fishy might because of over cook too. I was like…… I told her I can’t eat the salmon anymore after my first bite. She replied the kitchen is closed so they can’t make another one for me (which I don’t wish too as if it’s the same batch of salmon, it will taste fishy too). And ended up, she was so GENEROUS by offering me 20% discount on the salmon steak which I only bite one bite and she said that’s the most she can do. Lesson paid. Won’t go back again as the food level and quality is dropping every...

I'm quite disappointed with today service. First, I have been told that need to wait at least 25mins if order any chops. Fine, then we chose spaghetti and salad because we were in rush. After that, the first spaghetti came and it was so salty after we tasted it!! But we tolerated it, we didn't complaint because we thought it was just a small mistake since 2pm many people having lunch there. Then already 30mins passed and my carbonara still didn't come. We told the waiter to help us check and he then told us need to wait more 3 mins. Fine, I wait again. After the food came, I totally frustrated with it. I ordered chicken fillet carbonara and they served me chicken HAM carbonara??!!! What? Since we were in a rush, I didn't have time to ask then to change and then wait again. I picked out all the ham and finished my food. Maybe some people think it's ok ma, at least they replaced something for you la, so don't complaint la...but I am saying all these not because I am angry with the food, of course yes I don't like to eat ham and the most important value that I think they are missing is the attitude! Being a cafe that has been operating for so many years, they should know before they want to change anything the first thing they must do and should do is to ask their customer's opinion! Am I right? At least the customers know and won't get annoyed while the ingredients have been changed to another. HAM is okay, but if they change another ingredient and the person eat has allergic with it? Then how? So I am here to advice all the staffs in BLACK HORSE, please be responsible to all the customers in BH and make sure they are having a very happy experience there if you want the customers to come back. The food price is not consider cheap and all customers deserve a respect, happy and satisfy...

Update: 2/5/19 It seems the mushroom soup doesn't have consistent quality,the last time I had this dish tasted quite good but this time it's just down right disappointing.

Update: 27/5/19 I ordered the Grilled Black Pepper chicken and it was absolutely disgusting 😨. The chicken was hard to chew and wasn't fresh. The sauce wasn't as aromatic as the first time I visited here. The overall quality of food here has been deteriorating as time goes on.

Update: 1/7/19 Decided to give this place another try. This time I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was okay,could use more seasoning imo,portion was quite large as well. Mushroom soup was fine.

Update: 8/11/19 Been 4 months since the last time I came here. Food is still horrendous! Not coming back here ever again until they improve their dishes. (The chef needs to...
