I always thought the coleslaw in the set menu tasted great, I would have definitely ordered it if it is in the menu not as a side. Sadly, it became the one that got CUT away. Look at this, just 1 piece of [insert the green's name]?
I eat out mostly, my impression was that most main meals in Malaysia (even fast foods) would do it for appeal and nutrition. How much would few more slices of cucumber add to the cost? Mee goreng mamak has at least 2 slices of cucumber, at half the price of this menu.
Most importantly, the bread (is this the mantou that the owner claims no one wants?) is shaped to open half way for some fillings. Fill it in with what? Another staple carb (rice)? Dip with the juices/gravies? The cutlets that are too big? Maybe that is why people leave out mantou. People would leave roti canai too if it is one of the dish in banana leaf rice.
Sorry about being petty. Yes you are right, if I dont like it, I am not visiting it again. (Yes, rice and bun have fibres too, but do people really feel the same about ingesting a bun and a bun...
Read moreFirst time here. It was a random pick but turned out to be a great surprise. When we arrived, the look of the restaurant was less than mediocre. When we sat down, the table wasn't cleaned immediately and we weren't attended immediately as well. The first impression of the place was that they're understaffed and live up to their "cincai" spirit. BUT....
The real surprise was when the food arrived. The buttermilk sauce plus curry sauce, aka yin yung, was an impressive surprise! It goes so well with the fluffy yet crispy mantou that comes with the set or their fried chicken chop!
We also ordered their crispy fried chicken burger and went for a combination of spicy and cheese sauce, which was also another great surprise! All of their fried items are fresh out of the stove when they serve you, so they're all crispy and go extremely well with their sauce options.
Another thing that adds the cherry on top of the cake was that they provide table games! They have a good selection of board games, card games, etc! And all meal sets come with free refill drinks!
All in all, this place is a true hidden gem in SS15. Do check this place out when...
