Hi! Here are some of my experiences after eating here twice~ 1. The entrance was a bit confusing since the door had the same look with the wall beside a small coffee shop(?) in front of it. But it was a nice touch. My family, me and my friend were amused hehe. There will be a waiter bringing you to an empty table once you're inside. 2. Scan qr code on table for the order. The website is smooth and doesn't lag. Ordering through it is quite easy and fast. Can pay after you finish eating. (I always go for debit card) But you can pay with cash or QR payment. 3. Waiting time is bearable. Not too fast, not too long. Just nice. The waiters are friendly. They even asked if we wanted any desserts after we finished our meal (we were unfortunately full at that moment). 4. Food is delicious! The first time I came here, my mom went ahead to try the lobster and she loved it! The salted egg dishes are also good! (The picture i have is only the 2nd time I've been here) my friend enjoyed the buttermilk chicken and mantou. The buttermilk is more towards the sweet side but the slices of chillies in it balance out the whole dish. 5. Price is reasonable for a standard restaurant. It is also reasonable for its quality and quantity. 6. The ambience tho... the music is very nice and relaxing, but it can be quite dark inside. Still, good feeling. 7. I have to unfortunately warn people who want to eat here to be patient in finding parking since the road is always busy and people double park everywhere. I can't even remember if i even see an OKU parking or not. That is all from me. Thank you, and enjoy!

First of all to find this place is one helluva work. There's no signage or banner that shows the place is Jibril. The only way to know for sure is a Sangkaya kiosk. And the entrance door is located exactly right behind it. You will have to wait before seated as this place is pack with people all the time. Inside you will find a chilling house music with dark gloomy mood vibe. Quite good for those who likes to be in isolation. But fret not there's 2nd level where you can get more exclusivity with a curtain closed compound which can accommodate up to 5 peoples at a time. You might wanna make a reservation during peak hours, just drop them a text go give them a ring. Absolute pleasure of delicacies with variety of food to eat. One of its signature dish is Nasi Buttermilk Chicken and Salted Egg Buttermilk Chicken. It's a must to order of you decide to crash at Jibril. Not good a place for a family with toddlers or kids. Perfect for couples or basically anyone else who isn't afraid of dark. The price is quite reasonable as a per dish cost around RM 10-20. Potter is the best beverages you could order. It's a non alcoholic wine fused with vanilla ice cream. Good place to hangout. Recommend to go around 11-12 or 3-4 as it's not the most busiest time of the day. Great service, might consider tips the waitress as well. Oh and btw I'm shooting the pics using Pixel 2XL night shot so the picture may varied(a lot) than the depicted situation might be. Like take 50% of darkness into the picture and that's Jibril.

Honestly, it was overhyped. Service was slow. The food was just fine, basic-nothing special. 1. The waiter/hostess was slow to come to the table to take the order. It was not even busy but have to wait for 10-15mins for the waiter to come to take our order. 2. The floor service(waiter/waitress) was slow to clear up the table. We were eating a group of 6 and everyone ordered 3 meals per person, but when we finished some of our meals there was no waiter/waitress offered or made the effort to pick up the stacks of empty plates on our tables. They’re not even busy but instead, they’re soo free that they were able to chat&hang with each other at the drink bar/cashier counter. So we ended up having to eat the rest of our meals in a limited space due to the uncollected empty plates stacked on our table. 3. The food is overpriced and overhyped- tastes just fine, not that super yummy or extra delicious. We thought that with the overhyped review, the food must be impressive. Turns out we were wrong. Garlic bread and the mantao were so basic. Salted egg buttercream tasted like sweet sugar cream with only a bit of salted egg taste (Gold Chilli or Two Sons salted egg tasted much better). Carbonara is also very basic for the price they charged. The salted buttercream chicken chop pasta also tasted just okay to eat-nothing special. Nasi lemak and lasagna were just okay. The salted egg croissant was not even worth it to order. The hot chili clamp was good but sadly the clamp has a lil bit of rancid and sour taste. The same goes for the crab - I guess the kitchen crew doesn't wash/prep it well. The only thing that we liked is the interior and the uniqueness of the halal non-halal drinks concept(halal soda drinks served in a concept of liquor cocktails) it felt like we were dining at a halal speakeasy bar lounge. But other than that, it is overhyped and overrated. I think it is all because of the interior and the speakeasy bar lounge concept. Honestly, I think it needs some additional improvement. So, it can really be celebrated as a great quality restaurant that customers expected.

To be honest, overall this restaurant is kinda overrated. We went here because of the good reviews people keep telling us and we wanna try it. But we bit disappointed with the food especially. I tried salted egg butter chicken (if I'm not mistaken the name of the signature food here) and i was disappointed because the sauce was so sweet and kinda gravy i must say. I thought it was buttered and cheesy like i used to eat. Maybe only that day, but i hope they can improve on it. And we also tried nasi lemak with chicken and for me this dish was better because we love the spiciness. For dessert, we tried new york cheesecake and it didn't turn out really good for us. Maybe they should put thick crust at the bottom to balance the cheese taste. I like the decorations of the restaurant but the ambiance was bit dark so we didn't enjoy the food so much. We plan to hang out and talk while we eat but because of the seating was close to other tables, we didn't really comfortable and we can even listen to our neighbours conversation 😂 maybe they want to fit in all customers so they made the arrangements like that. But the staffs are friendly, we even called them to make sure that we can dine-in here and they answered politely. Very modern-look menu, you can just scan the QR code and choose what you want to eat while you waiting for the seat. Follow the sop but when there's a lot of people queued outside, there's no social distancing. Not really recommend to bring kids or elderly or disable people here because it's quite hard to find parking here.

Edited 16.07.2023 Have been here several times and this is my first time trying something other than the buttermilk chicken and you guys(!!) What a pleasant surprise the nasi lemak turned out to be, the chicken was like a spicier malaysian version style of the signature buttermilk chicken that, needless to say, we found to be absolutely bomb. Buttermilk chicken chop pasta was also extremely creamy and again, loved loved the amount the sauce they give. As it's really thick with the flavour some might find it difficult to finish on one's own. The salted egg filling in the croissant, when cut open, just came oozing out and of course it was divine 🤤 croissant itself was flaky and soft on the inside, as all croissants done right should be. Would've loved it more if it had been a bit more crispier, though that was possibly due to the fact that we waited until the last to taste it. Still super yum for a croissant I would say 🫶 ------- My staple go-to whenever I'm craving for some good buttermilk chicken 😋 Chicken fried to perfection and lathered in the salted egg sauce always hits the spot for me. Also love how they're not stingy with the extra sauce! Would've loved an extra kick (extra chillies) but I think that's just me :p Butter clams were creamy, albeit a tiiiny bit sweet. Overall a yummy experience always, definitely a place deserving of the hype!

On the table today is Salted egg butter chicken rice set (RM15.90), Butter chicken chop pasta(RM21.90) and Salted egg croissant (RM8.90). Let's talk about the croissant first, the taste is as expected of salted egg; salty, gooey and slightly thick. The croissant is chewy and flaky but it's pretty evident that it went back into the oven before heading out. The filling was ample but the knife couldnt cut through airy chewy pastry. The salted egg butter chicken set comes with a nice serving of fried chicken coated with salted egg, steamed rice and buttermilk at the side. The dish for me was lacking the heat from the curry leaves and birds eye chilies. The chop even though double fried, is still tender. The sauce was thick, savoury and packed with heat. This for me was a better dish on the day. Jibril is located at SS15 (same row as Fat Baby and opposite Fowl boys). Parking could be difficult but not impossible. Queues during dinner can be quite insane but service is fast and prompt. This is a Muslim owned operated outlet with no pork and alcohol served. *NOTE* This is not a paid post; the written content is based on the author's personal opinion and preference.
