Place: parking is scares especially during peak hours. Non young kids friendly. Drink: Typical Chinese kopi tiam. Food: Tried "Lim" prawn grass noodle + yellow noodle with my very own 3 steps method. Original soup base is pretty oily, medium spicyness, can't really taste much prawn broth sweetness probably due to its spicyness. Comes with tauge, kangkong, slice pork (all white meat) and half of boiled egg. Yellow noodle alkaline taste is pretty obvious which is not my preference. Added short ribs, they were quality pork with the right blend of red + white meat making them very tender, juicy and match perfectly with the prawn soup... nice 🤤 After about finishing half bowl of noodle I then mashed egg yoke and mixed em into soup well. Soup oilyness and spicyness reduced (probably egg yoke absorbed some of them 🤔) and now I can taste soup's sweetness slightly better although still mild. Before finishing the noodle and soup I then added the sambal provided into the soup again and guess what, I got the soup almost back the original oily and spicy flavour haha...
Read moreA corner lot coffee shop which is popular with the locals living in and around the area, Wong Soon Kee features a few stalls that have been the mainstay of this institution for many, many years.
These stalls include the wan tan mee, which I tried and found it to be very good. Also the char koay teow is pretty good, and not forgetting the other stalls as well. I have tried almost all of them, but the one that keeps me coming back is the economy rice.
The meat dishes like sweet sour pork, curry chicken, and braised pork belly are very good. The fried chicken from the Wong's Fried Chicken shop is phenomenal!
Parking is not really a problem as you can find one at the back row of the shop if you can't find one in front. Be forewarned, that weekend mornings can be quite crowded and you might have to wait around for a table.
A simple, no fuss coffee shop...
Read moreDisclaimer: am only reviewing this kopitiam food solely based on the famous fried chicken served here and not the other food stalls. I believe the folks at SS15 is not foreign to this famous fried chicken. The reason simply being that the fried chickens here are probably the biggest in Subang Jaya if not the entire Klang Valley. Aside from its humongous portion, the taste is also commendable. The juicy chicken thighs and drumsticks are fried to crispy perfection with their aromatic batter coating offering delight in every bite for fried chicken lovers. The stall that sells the legendary fried chicken is actually a mixed rice stall offering an assortment other cooked dishes which you can pair with your white rice and fried chicken. The downside here is probably the condition of the kopitiam which could use some refurbishment and improve on its...
