HIDANGAN PERIUK PANAS PEDAS — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

Today (29 Oct 2025) visited this restaurant at about 7pm and was extremely disappointed with my overall experience. The ambience looks very run down and not well maintained — cleanliness seems to be a serious issue.

When my food was being weighed, I felt something was not quite right with the way it was done, as I’ve had Mala Hotpot elsewhere and the process felt more transparent.

The cashier counter was handled by a foreign lady (looks like from Myanmar), and to my concern, I believe cash handling should be done by authorized local staff only.

Moreover, the same lady is the one who served our food, and during my meal, I was shocked to notice her putting her bare hands inside her T-Shirt and scratching her under-arm and then continuing to serve customers & handling the food without washing her hands. That was extremely unhygienic and unpleasant to witness.

The cook (also foreigner) also walked around the premises barefoot, which added to the overall poor hygiene impression.

I’ve been to this same restaurant about three years ago, and the food quality has clearly deteriorated since then. It’s disappointing to see how much the standards have dropped.

I sincerely hope the management or owner takes this feedback seriously and implements stricter hygiene and cleanliness practices. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be...

I wonder if the below good reviews are authentic?? Food quality below average. We had our hotpot dry version. Beef meat tasted stale. Cold tofu wasn't fresh. Broccoli n cauliflower were over done and lost its crispness. It was overly oily as well. Price wasn't consider cheap but with the food quality, thumbs down. Worst, the toilet.. .omg! So dirty and yellowish water found on the toilet floor. Yuck! Toilet lock spoilt also, darn it. The cook was smoking just outside the restaurant when we arrived. Wont ever wana...

I think this place is unhygienic. At 8pm, the lady boss and staff started sorting the ingredients into smaller bowls. They just dipped their hands into the trays full of water without gloves. While sorting, a piece of vege dropped on the floor and the lady boss put it back to the tray. I thought she was gonna dispose the whole vege tray, but she proceeded to place the tray back at the ingredient counter.😨
