We reached this non air-conditional coffee shop on weekdays at about 12pm. There were plenty of parking spaces at the roadside. No queue time was needed for the table as two-thirds of the table was occupied. The coffee shop staff didn't warn smokers within the premises.
We ordered a mixture of duck and roast chicken rice at RM12.10 per serving. Duck meat was tender and soft while skin was flavourful. Chicken meat was good but not as good as the duck. The server put a scoop of special sauce, and this was addictive. Cucumber was generous, and rice was cooked well. Serving speed was as fast as 5 minutes upon ordering. 4 stars
We also ordered herbal duck noodles, but we changed the noodle to meesua. The herbal soup was fantastic and aromatic and certified on par with a few top herbal duck noodles in penang. The duck meat was cooked very well and still not fragmental. The herbal taste was just nice and not overly. Serving speed also fast within 5 minutes. But, RM14 per serving was a bit pricey if compared to penang RM9. 5 stars
The curry chee cheong fun with pork skin and tiny crispy shrimp was outstanding. The cher cheong fun itself was mediocre. But, it's curry was just nice; it was not too strong nor too diluted. All ingredients included the fishballs, fuchock, and pork skin, were done very well. The crispy small shrimp and chilli elevated the taste to the next level. If the chee cheog fun could become bouncy, silky smooth and flavourful even ot its own, it will become a masterpiece in the future. 5 stars
Soya bean was mediocre. Nothing special. RM3.20 per serving. 2 stars
Wantan mee was one of the worst we ever tried. Just feel the taste of the black sauce, and the BBQ pork was tasteless. The filling of wantan was too...
Read moreToo crampy as theres too many tables inside. It's like sitting back to back with another customer. In terms of parking, still consider manageable as there are plenty street parking spaces. After mkn, if you wanna buy groceries, may drop by LOTUS, less than mins drive. The fried kuey teow is super awesome as prawns are big & fresh, the eggs n noodles are not covered with dirt from wok (black) plus taste are just right....yum yum Rm8.50. Wan Tan Mee soup is nice, too. You might think that such clear soup should have no taste, but you are wrong. The soup is super tasty, and so is the wan tan Rm7.50. Meats are nicely flavoured. Gyoza Rm15 Super Nice 10/10 Hot, Crispy n well marinated meat n Claypot Chicken Rice Rm12, not too flavor plus rice...
Read moreHave been here a couple of times, mostly to eat and tarpau the delicious herbal duck noodle. Mee sua duck noodles are food for the soul, especially when you're not feeling too well and the weather is rainy. Otherwise, the coffeeshop itself is rather claustrophobic....the space between seats are cramped and it can get smoky and too warm. It's the type of place you quickly eat then leave asap.
Today came here for tea, had -bubur chacha and glutinous black rice RM5 per bowl. Worth eating. Large bowls with thick santan, not overly sweet. -freshly fried cucur udang. 3 crunchy large round disks for RM10. Friendly uncle chopped them up in pieces and served with tangy chilli sauce....
