Subang Jaya, particularly SS15, is a predominantly student area. That's why majority of F&B here price their food and drinks at "student" level to boost up their business. It's also lighter on my wallet too.
The Great Cafe is located along a row of shophouses facing Subang Parade, less busier than the notoriously congested area in SS15. With simple setting, we had one satisfying breakfast.
◾Nyonya Curry Ramen RM15.90 - freshly made ramen doused with flavourful Nyonya Curry which was quite fragrant with herbs; topped with homemade chicken patty, fried tofu puffs, fish stuffed beancurd & vegetables. ◾Signature chicken ramen RM12.90 should be the choice for those who prefer something clear and simple. ◾Butter kaya toast set RM8.90 - toasted Hainan bread spread with their homemade kaya, paired with eggs of choice.. I opted for scrambled egg and the day suddenly became better. ◾Build Your Own Snack Plate at RM5 per item (minimum 2 items) - 5pcs mini chicken patties; 2pcs hash brown; and 5pcs fried wantan cost only RM15 for a satisfying snacks.
The noodle was free of alkaline taste since it was homemade. The pricing is definitely targeted at college students, as this area is full...

Simple interior with lots of natural lighting. Service was great and everything is reasonably priced.
They have 3 breakfast combos and 30% for coffee till 12pm. Good place for work. There’s free water and WiFi.
The toast looks very simple but oh so good 😋 It taste like there’s caramel in the spread. The signature chicken ramen (RM13.90) was surprisingly tasty and well portioned too. Pandan nasi lemak (RM10.90) was worth-it, good portion and yummy.
Some description and pricing on the menu are a little confusing like how it’s an additional RM1 for ramen noodle when the picture shows ramen noodle and as for the nasi lemak, it actually comes with fried egg and chicken patty but it’s not mentioned instead it’s stated that for egg and patty, they are additional charges. Kinda confusing for us and we ended up having 2 patties and 2 fried eggs for the nasi lemak which was unnecessary. Perhaps owners can relook into the wordings of the menu and amend them.
Other than that, everything was great. Place is clean, especially the toilet 👍 , food was yummy and service was prompt and good....
Read moreLittle tiny spot in SS15. Was my 1st time there for breakfast and it left me with a good impression. The chill setting coupled with concrete benches gave it a little rough edge to the existing cozy ambiance. Though it was still in CNY mood, it did not have the usually loud celebration music, instead very subtle CNY background piano-based music, that makes you feel like you're at a highend cafe. The food were delicious. It brought, if not the usual bland taste of ramen, to another level. Prefer the Asian spread rather than the mat salleh ones. The price, is at low side. I also like the fact that the list of food in its menu is kinda limited, because it means it knows its strengths, instead of "trying" to be good at everything, and nakes it easier for you to choose what you eant to eat. Will definitely come again, though I might not have the rose coffee again. It may not go well with my taste bud, but it could be yours,...
