Worst experience ever at a local hotel that not even worth to be a 3 star hotel!
Check-in time stated 2pm, but was told room not ready, delayed until 2.40pm only checked in (when front desk told that room is cleaned & ready), with a very rude bad attitude showing black face front desk staff, and only gave 1 room key card knowing this is a room for 2.
Checked into room at L4, a housekeeper (foreign worker with language barrier) was playing his phone right outside my room. Upon entering the room, well it's spacious but all the mirrors are with finger prints/marks & dirt stain. As a guest, I have to ask the housekeeper to clean my room again, guiding him where to clean from living area to bathroom. Best part is he's using a bath towel to wipe glass surface. Furniture countertop such as tabletop, security box are all filled with thick dust.
Finally, wanted to settle down do some work, so try to connect to the given wifi login. Failed after trying many times, so try to call Concierge with 2 desk phones inside the bedroom, both totally not working. Fine, I used my own mobile call front desk direct line, no one picked up. I've to take the very slow moving lift to lobby to address the issue, only to my surprise another front desk staff gave a very poor respond just throw a paper with duty manager number out and told me to complain to this number. When asked about the wifi issue, he told me to use another wifi login (with very impatient tone). Then, with his impatient of dealing with a hotel guest, he offered for a change of room to L3. (Note: I am in a hurry to get ready for dinner with all these hiccups going on).
Checked out from L4 went down to L3, thought the room would be better this round but a total let down! The room lights was so dim, no one bother changing the lightbulb until I request for it. Hotel maintenance team never do regular audit on rooms maintenance? Second thing there was ZERO bedroom & bathroom amenities at all. Now, I have to walk out of my room to get from the housekeeper at another far end. Finally this housekeeper is a polite one, even himself admitted that not all rooms were given amenities as instructed by management unless guest request. So what we paid for is for an empty room only? What was posted on booking platform was just a trick to get more biz?
After lots of non satisfactory complaints to the Duty Manager, finally someone is responding. Director of Sales, some senior level engineering & front desk personnel came up to apologies for all the hiccups by offering a free breakfast. However I do not do all these for a free breakfast at all. It's a very very bad poorly maintained hotels from stinky smelly lift car to lousy hotel rooms to poorly management ballroom. Lift is stuffy plus with pee smell, ballroom hall area has moldy smell, hallway along guest room have heavy smoking smell all time.
Dinner at Ballroom, first dish was a soup dish served with SURPRISE (at least for me). A stainless steel scourer wire in the soup and I've to spit out from my mouth! How gross is this? Food level definitely worse than a road side stall, where everyone complained about it. And such wire in my food? Totally not acceptable! Is this how a hotel operate for guests/customers who pay to use your facilities?
Poorly maintained hotel, under trained staff, lousy food, everything just spoil everyone's mood. Definitely first & last visit...
Read moreAlthough this hotel could be considered a "budget" hotel (around $100 per night) I would expect more, especially as I stayed for more than 10 nights. The worst elements were on returning from breakfast in the hotel dining room I opened my room door to find an expanding river of water across the entrance. Apparently the air conditiong on that whole level (8) was having issues. The water was cleaned up in about 30 minutes after having to go to reception and explain the issue even though there is a phone within the room connected to reception which no one answered. My room was changed to a lower floor (6). On changing rooms, I noticed a letter in the office arrangement explaining about construction going on in the connected mall/shopping centre. On enquiring in person to the reception person I was told there was a wall being knocked down in the mall and I would only hear a bit of noise on level 6, and it was level 3 that would get most of the noise. The noise/vibration I experienced on level 6 sounded like a large jackhammer and then a large manual hammer banging away between about 10 pm through to about 1 am the next morning. Although there are worst situations organising/paying for etc. a holiday one usually hopes to relax/catch up on sleep. I could have changed hotels but choose to finish my booked stay at Empire Hotel. The morning after arriving late a cleaner assumed my gender and called me "Sir" twice even though I was wearing a dress. This might be a cultural/other mistake, but it made me feel uneasy and I didnt feel confident enough to correct the cleaner, but I aimed to avoid this cleaner the rest of my stay. There were other hotel staff members who I managed to develop a healthier rapport with. Use power points near the window/single lounge seat/right of t v (mainly local content choice on T V) at own risk as they appear damaged. There were signs of other general wear and tear but shouldn't cause major issues. I only ever ate breakfast in the hotel (otherwise easy access to various other choices in Nu Empire Shopping Gallery) which although not abundant or varied daily choices to eat/drink it was ample enough. If you need internet access ensure you can connect within 1-2 days on all devices, it took longer than three days on some devices. On a previous separate stay to this one there were also internet issues but can be sorted by going to reception and seeking help. Other than the above elements this stay was okay but try it out...
Read moreSummarize||We recently stayed at your hotel on Boxing Day. While we were initially excited to return, our experience was unfortunately disappointing.||The room we were initially assigned was far below our expectations. It was not only unclean but also had significant maintenance issues, particularly in the bathroom. The noise level from the bathroom fixtures was excessive and the television reception was poor.||We were moved to a second room, but the conditions were similarly unsatisfactory. The bathroom walls were visibly dirty and moldy.||We believe that the quality of accommodations provided did not align with the price paid.||And oh the pillows are so thin. Even after folding it into 2, the cheapest pillow one can buy at a department store is thicker.||To exacerbate the situation, on our second night, we returned home to find a notice indicating scheduled electricity maintenance by TNB from 12 PM to 8 PM. Despite the expectation that essential services like air conditioning and emergency lighting would remain operational due to a generator backup, this was not the case.||The power outage extended beyond the scheduled timeframe, commencing at 11:45 PM and lasting until 12:30 AM. This occurred despite confirmation from TNB's hotline (15454) that no such maintenance was planned for the area.||The power outage affected critical services including service lifts, fire emergency lifts, corridor lighting, room lighting, and even telephone systems. This raises serious concerns about guest safety and emergency response capabilities, particularly in the event of a medical emergency or other unforeseen incident.||Furthermore, the power was unexpectedly cut off again around 5 AM, lasting for over 30 minutes, further disrupting our sleep and overall experience.||This experience falls significantly short of our expectations for a hotel stay. We strongly advise future guests to exercise caution and prepare for potential disruptions during their stay. Better yet choose...
