I would like to rate it 0 star if I could but Google only allowed 1 star for the worst. Here's our worst experience dining in at Esquire Kitchen Subang Parade last weekend.
Firstly the food quality was appalling! Not only the portion was way too small for the price of RM19++ for a pork chop rice set, I can also count there are barely 9-10 bake beans in it. The size of the pork chop is as small as a baby's hand. What a joke for a RM19++ rice with barely any meat and bake beans! Come on, it doesn't even cost you that much to place extra bake beans and sauce in it. It's dry as a Sahara desert.
Then there is the fried sauce noodles. Look at it! Not only you get a tiny bowl of noodles with barely any sauce in it, you had to pay a whopping RM17++ for that bowl of noodles! This is a freaking rip off!
Next the staffs are so inattentive and telling us why the sauce is that little because of how their kitchens ways of doing things. That's not how you tell your customers on what you are doing at the back of the kitchen. You should have changed our noodles and add in more sauce! Appalling service! She should get more training on her customer service skills.
Lastly, though they moved to upper floor, the air ventilation is almost non existence. I can barely feel any air conditioning flowing in to the restaurant. We almost sweating throughout the whole ordeal!
Sorry this would be my last time ever stepped into any Esquire...
Read moreOne of the nicest foods ~ Esquire. This Chinese restaurant still serves amazingly consistent quality noodles, rice and boiled soups and familiar dishes. While it’s fun to have great new choices and cuisines but really, well cooked simple healthy home meals that doesn’t cost the ceiling is rare these days specially in comfy aircon places that doesn’t leave you smelling like the food. Esquire is a testament to the longevity of authentic simple Shanghainese and other popular chinese dishes. Decor is clean and modern with the ID red elements. Service staffs attentive, and quick. (They really do clean tables properly ie no oily eek, not just a quick swap to the floor -;)) Ordered Dry sesame noodles with minced meat n bok choy~ delicious. Noodles smooth n soft! Set Value lunches available with either healthy soups or gyoza dumplings sufficient to be shared by two. Rice dishes plenty to select from. Overall quality is just as good as I remembered from years back. Well done, team Esquire. Keep it up ~ so the nexGen can enjoy too.
For those staying around Subang Jaya, don’t be put off that it’s hidden in one of the oldest-albeit not-very-modern Mall of Subang Parade. Upside ~...
Read moreThis particular outlet for the Esquire chain of Chinese restaurants remains one of the oldest tenants within this mall. It's shifted premises several times around the mall but is a compass constant around this place offering an uncanny familiarity to the regular patrons yet remaining attractive to new visitors looking for a good meal be it during lunch or dinner.
A recent revisit to this place with some fellow family relatives did indeed invoke a certain nostalgia although the decor is very much in contemporary fashion, there's a certain touch that is reminiscent of the past. Speaking of which, the food has remained and retained much of its fine dining finess and taste much to our delight. There have been some adjustments to their current menu offerings but the core dishes which made this place famous are still proudly highlighted on their menu. Excellent! Just stick to the familiar dishes and ask the captain for quick suggestions on what new dishes to order on top of the usual suspects....
