Terrible experience... Firstly, they mistaken serving incorrect order, the meat of dry & soup bkt were switched, they admitted their mistake and switch to correct meat which we have to wait again for the recook.
When the correct order served, the soup rib & soft bone rib meat is not fresh, most of the meat even appear dull & dark tone, the given meat were difficult to chew unlike the rib which we usually ordered. The dry porkleg tender were mostly all fats, of cause I don't expect porkleg tender to be in lean but it's ridiculously given fats and end up most of the dish were wasted. We have the feeling that this is due to we request to change this 2 dishes to our's correct order.
We don't want to wait anymore as the kids were hungry and we need to rush elsewhere, we bear with the foods along with other dish e.g vege, fuzhok, fubok, enoki mushroom. Another reason of not complaining right away is we don't want the restaurant felt that we are the fussy customer request to change so many times and caused hassle for them. I'm definitely not the type of fussy customer.
We then ask for the bill and highlight this issue to the captain for the intention of their improvement of food quality. We were so upset that she replied that the meat quality got no issue even after seeing the remaining dull rib and many of the discarded fats porkleg tender.
We have been eating here since years, we were very clear bout the meat that we used to eat and it is definitely not the dull lean rib & mostly fats porkleg tender we have tonight.
We were so so disappointed about the feedback and for sure will not going back anymore. If anyone wants to eat similar bkt can try another yap chuan in this area which facing the main road.
P/s : This long long review will not appear if the lady captain admit the shortfall about the freshness of the meat. Sigh that this bkt is not the one we used to eat anymore, quality of the food & service is terrible...
Highly...
Read moreYap Chuan Bak Kut Teh Puchong has grown and become well known nowadays, especially their signature dishes, dry bak kut teh, which has attracted a lot of customer from certain distance to their restaurant.
The originally dry bak kut teh was cooked by a little boy since years ago, he was 14 year old during that time and master to cooked the dry bak kut teh with ingredient pork meat together with the dried chili, cuttlefish and okra, which able to bring out the aroma of soya sauce to the correct dryness and fragrance. For whom ate it before, definitely there was an awesome and unforgettable experience.
However, we noticed the recent taste of the dry bak kut teh has a slightly changed, which is very less of cuttlefish stripe, and unable to bring out the aroma of the dishes.
We (total 9 peoples) have ordered both dry and soup bak kut teh, some side dish like lecture, yam rice, oil rice, chinese tea and etc. Service was good and we are satisfy with the portion served.
Overall, the taste of the both soup and dry version of bak kut teh are consider above average, highly recommended by majority of the customers and it's definitely earned the top spot in Puchong area.
You may able to find car park near to this restaurant, but gentle reminder to pay the parking fee online. Else, you may worry that you will be compounded and not comfort to enjoy...

Its good to take both but order small portions each so you get to try both. They also offer steam lettuce, enoki mushrooms, pork ribs, golden brown deep fried strip dough (you tiao), bean bubble (taufu pok) and options for oil rice. Portions given are reasonable. You can also bring your own chinese tea leafs if you want. The meat served is very tender and well marinated. The broth was also very tasty. Definately recommend this place for anyone who needs to get their bak kut teh fix. Prices here are also fairly...
