Charles Bar in Swatar is such a cozy spot and one of those hidden gems where you instantly feel at home. The owner is truly a gentleman, always welcoming with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that makes your visit memorable. What really stood out is how he went the extra mile and even made us a cocktail of our choice, which was not on the menu, and he did it with such ease and coolness that it made the whole experience even more enjoyable. 1st the waitress came and took our appetizer while it was still almost full and had to ask for another appetizer.... To make it worse when i asked for another appetizer ( because she took the one we had ) she just brought cold soggy fried potato wedges which must have been left overs from someone who ate 2 hours before and she just left us that. I had to ask another waiter and tell him to change after explaining what the other waitress brought us. After that they came with a couple of good rounds to compensate.

And the music was so loud you couldnt hear yourself talk but that is not a big issue since its a bar.

I dont like the way we were treated with the appetizers. Surely will not recommend it to my friends and will certainly never visit again.

I was in Malta for the first time. I didn't know anyone and was a stranger in the country. Since I had my apartment near the bar, I thought I'd check it out.

It was the best decision of my life!!!

Mark (the owner) is the best bartender and an even better person and friend. His cocktails are incredible. Mark is really great to talk to. He's friendly, nice, and helpful.

Through him, I met other Germans, with whom I also explored Malta. In the end, we were regulars. To all Germans, you have to try the hot dog. It's made with real Bockwurst, not the kind you unfortunately find everywhere in supermarkets. A gem of nature. Just every local knows the Charles Bar. There are only a few who don't know it.

If I'm in Malta again, I'll definitely come back to you.
