My boyfriend and I came to play here a week ago today(sorry the review has taken so long) whilst on holiday in beautiful Malta.
I have done 50+ escape rooms (I think this one was my 56th maybe?) and my partner has done 3 (this was his 4th). I also work at an escape room so know the ins and outs, and have seen some pretty amazing ones (and been to some pretty dreadful ones too). When I tell you, this escape room is probably my favourite one I have EVER done, I mean it!
Not only did we TAKE THE RECORD 🏆 but our whole experience was phenomenal from start to finish. We sat chatting with Marco for about 10 minutes before and at least 20 minutes after we had finished who talked us through our storyline and adventure.
Once inside, I was so pleasantly surprised by how beautifully dressed the room was. We played the Da Vinci game which at first, we were a bit gutted about (Hannibal was a minimum of 3) and we didn’t think Da Vinci would be our thing however we were proved wrong once inside!!
The props were all in theme and felt really old and expensive, the puzzles were great fun and everything was so immersive. You start off separately and have to communicate and work together apart until you rejoin part way through the game.
We completed the adventure in I think 35 minutes, but we were so immersed we truly believed we had been in there almost nearing the hour. We couldn’t believe it when we were told the actual time!!
After we had finished Marco was absolutely hilarious asking how we’d done it and acting as if we were witches, we were almost crying with laughter! 🤣
We spoke for a little while and he said he’s so sorry that we couldn’t play Hannibal as it is a minimum of 3 players but asked if we’d like to see it anyway (which of course we did)!! It’s safe to say Hannibal looked absolutely INCREDIBLE, with the tiniest details thought through (even down to cracks being made purposely in the ceiling to add to the theme). We now want to visit Malta again with a friend so that we can play!!
Honestly, my experience here was 10/10. If I could play again I would, and if I could rate more than 5 stars I would. The rooms are phenomenal and Marco is a pleasure to talk too, such a kind person with a really lovely and genuine soul.
Thank you for having us guys, now hurry up and build more so we can come and...
Read moreI enjoyed the room "Hannibal" overall! My husband and I have tried quite a few escape rooms, but even with hints, we only escaped with 4 (!) seconds to spare! 😅
I enjoyed most of the puzzles in the room, but we often got stuck. It was often as a result of us not being certain about what items where offlimits or how they could be interacted with. The narrative wasn't very pervasive in the game and sometimes it felt more like guessing than solving puzzles. Maybe that says more about us - I don't know. I do feel like the signs in the room and the instructions by our host could have been clearer.
I would generally recommend this experience 👍. However, if everybody in the group has tried escape rooms before, I would recommend a group size of 2-3 or a maximum of 4 for Hannibal. I think experienced players would get bored with a larger group than this, as there aren't enough puzzles going on at the same time for everybody to be actively engaged with the game.
Thanks for a fun hour! We'll check out your other room(s) if we find ourselves in...
Read moreIv'e played both rooms as the 1st one we played (Hannibal) was so good that I had to experience the 2nd room. They are both totally unique and fun to play. Hannibal is a horror themed room which I highly reccomended to anyone that likes problem solving or horror in general. I have played 10 rooms now and this one is definitely up there as being one of the best rooms Ive played. Marco is also a very good host and will help you out if you are stuck with anything. The Leonardo room was also very enjoyable as it has different mechanics in it and the theming for both rooms is very realistic which adds to the experience. if you're looking for something fun to do on Malta this is definitely the place to go! It is only a short bus ride from valetta or from Silema as well which is convenient. Thanks so much for a...
