Coffee Circus Connections / Marsaskala — Restaurant in Marsascala

My partner and I stopped here for a quick coffee and light lunch and it ended up being nearly 1.5 hours! We ordered a coffee and iced coffee first about 3-5 mins after sitting down and said we wanted a little longer to choose food. Drinks didn't arrive for another 20 mins at which point we were finally able to get someone to take our food order. We ordered a sandwich (piccalilli, pastrami and salad) and a salad (buffalo mozzarella) which took 35 mins to arrive! The food was pleasant enough but the fresh tomatoes with both the salad and sandwich lacked any flavour (unlike all other tomatoes we have eaten in Malta) and the salad didn't have any capers as listed on the menu. Coffee Circus is a chain, found around Malta. We tried two of their locations - this one in Marsaskala and also the one in Rabat. They seem to be independently run and each place has its own personality. I particularly liked this one in Marsaskala as it was smaller, homier and at the time of our visit not crowded. They had quite a selection of sandwiches and flatbreads. The options were creative and the two that we tried were delicious made with fresh and quality ingredients. This is the place I immediately wanted to visit after seeing it from the outside... And I loved it! Coffee is amazing, really tasty and so good you don't even want to add sugar. Except cappuccino, I also tried pumpkin spice latte and it was the best flavoured coffee I've ever had in my life. The muffins are also great, especially the chocolate one - it tastes like pure chocolate in a muffin form, sounds funny, but when you try it yourself you probably will understand.
