Busy Bee Cafe Imsida — Restaurant in Msida

This place has a worldwide reputation. I have been many times for kannoli and coffee. SUPERB

However, the service is probably the worst I have ever encountered in my 70 years. The Busy Bee. Not Imseda. The newer one: Birkihara.

On entry, a server asked me and my companion to take any seat. He took us to the table selected and handed he us menus. I told him we wanted two Kannoli and two drinks. He told us that he could not take out orders. My reply: "Well, then, who can?" He pointed to another waiter who was taking nearly ten minutes with an order at another table. Meantime, a minimum of three waiters were at the coffee bar laughing and joking as if they were at a party.

When the server we were waiting for was finished, I told him that we were waiting to place our order. His response: "You just got here."

Someone else took our order. 1 sparkling water, two cappuccinos, two kannoli. The order came ten minutes later. One sparkling water, one cappuccino, two kannoli. I asked for another cappuccino. It took another 10 minutes for it to arrive My companion had already finished what had been served him by the time my cappuccino arrived.

At the end I asked to have a word with management. A young woman appears... clearly intent on "protecting" her staff, their rude behaviour, their procedures. She failed to see that there was anything whatsoever wrong with what had transpired, save that after 35 minutes, the server delivered the wrong order.

Talking to this manageress was like talking to a blank, stone wall

On return to Los Angeles I will use the means at my disposal to convey the message. My headline will read thus.... Busy Bee: Good food but the service Sting/ks.

Less than a basic coffee shop

I am leaving this review only after i tried for several times their products and return only due to it's major popularity which is much over rated. I have tried the eggs benedict for breakfast and i can say that the quality of the ingredients in comparison to the price is low, moreover they have an unusual interpretation of the traditional recipe. The pies are actually good in comparison with what else you can find in other shops around the island. The cakes that i have tried (i didn't try cannoli) were actually bad. The ingredients used have a really poor quality (super market like). I understand they are in house made but this does not help if you use cheap ingredients.
