We were really looking forward to visiting the restaurant, as we love Indian food and had heard great things. However, once again, Malta has disappointed me with its lack of pet-friendliness.
We called ahead to ask if we could bring our dog, and were told it was fine—as long as we sat on the terrace. Given the horrible weather (strong wind, cold), we assumed the terrace would at least be enclosed. But when we arrived, after 20 min walking, the staff immediately opened the door and showed us to a completely outdoor area. I was honestly SHOCKED. Outside? In this weather? Seriously?
It’s 2025. These kinds of outdated policies are incredibly disappointing. You can have a 4.8–5 star rating and serve the best food in the world, but if you're not evolving with the times, you're going to lose customers.
I’m not even interested in researching what Malta’s general laws are regarding dogs because thanks GOD I’m leaving in two months and, frankly, I have no plans to return. My overall impression of Malta has been one of dirtiness and a lack of respect, not just for people but for animals too. And now, to be denied entry to a restaurant because of my dog? That’s the last straw.
People don’t avoid places because they see dogs. That’s a tired myth. Many modern restaurants all over Europe have embraced pet-friendliness as a sign of progress and inclusivity.
It’s unfortunate, because I really do love Indian food, but after this treatment, I’ve deleted your place from my list and won't be recommending it to anyone. You need to open your minds and update your policies.
One last note: my dog is an emotional support animal. I didn’t want to escalate things and involve the police, but I could have—and you could have gotten into legal trouble. So please, take...
Read moreVisited this restaurant whilst on holiday in Sliema last week. Chose it because the interior looked like a proper restaurant, stylish and well laid out and because the food sounded and looked good. Our intention was not to eat a big meal as we'd had a hotel breakfast and a snack for lunch, so a starter each and a shared curry. Ordered the roasted poppadoms and 3 chutneys. We enjoyed these as the taste was distinctive. We were also given ordinary poppadoms and normal mango chutney as extra. Starters were onion bhaji and gunpowder chicken. Recieved 4 enormous bhaji which were delicious and perhaps the best I've every had. Had to leave one due to the size. The gunpowder chicken was ok but not particularly hot. We chose the Kadhai chicken with pilau rice to share. Lots of tender chicken in a lovely sauce. We were also given a complimentary chicken tikka. This had a strong distinctive flavour which seemed familiar but I couldn't place it at the time. Later decided it was like a strong mulligatawny flavour. Chisk beer was served nice and cold. Unfortunately, couldn't take a doggy bag due to no microwave in the hotel room, otherwise would have done. Engaged with the staff, Ardash, Jijo & Rahul who were very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly,...
Read more-If you care about taste and authenticity, don't let the restaurant's high ratings deceive you. -The service is mediocre to poor. -The prices do not match the quality of the food. -The only positive aspect is the restaurant's atmosphere.
The restaurant, unlike most Indian restaurants that offer rice or naan with curries, doesn't list this on the menu. Instead, you have to ask, and only then they tell you, "Do you want rice or bread with your meal?" You are surprised to find out that rice or bread is a separate order.
Aside from this, we ordered medium-spicy food, but it came extremely spicy, and when we told the waiter about that, he just said "sorry" and did nothing more -_- The prices do not match the quality of the food at all. I’ve tried several Indian restaurants in Malta with less impressive decor and lower ratings, but to be honest, they were much tastier in terms of flavor and recipe.
The waitress wasn't so friendly, when we asked about some of the dishes. The only good thing about the restaurant is its elegant decor. In short, the experience was disappointing, and the price was one and a half times higher than many other Indian...
