Msida Bastion Cemetery and Historic Garden — Attraction in Floriana

This is the last of four cemeteries adjoining the Floriana bastions which survives. The bastions were built in the 17th century and saw brief action on Napoleon's arrival in 1798, but after the French surrender in 1880, Protestant burials began in the area. A pair of George 3 cannons, each weighting four tons and an older ones from Knights period are still on site as a reminder of the bastions original purpose. I can definetly recommend the tour at the cemetary. It costs 5€ and is more than worth it. It was around the whole cemetary enhanced with very interesting facts and historical background, told in an entertaining and suspensful way. Hello, I was at the cemetery last Sunday and couldn't find anyone. The board said that it is only open on the first Sunday of the month. It would be nice if this information was also easily accessible on the internet. Today, however, I was there on a Saturday and it was also closed.
