We had been wanting to try “sally port” for quite a while after driving past several times .. location is lovely and the place looks really nice too .. we booked a table for 19:00 and all was well . My two friends and I got there and got a cider, a cisk and a blue label . Whilst the cider was perfectly chilled though , the beers were unfortunately not cold . We thought nothing of it and ordered 3 pizzas and decided to share them between us so we’d try them all. People were queuing up for a table and patron turnover was quite healthy. The pizzas were good and the experience was good …. Up until the time when half way through our dinner a waiter came to ask us if we wanted takeaway boxes … we courteously informed him that we were still not ready and he backed off ( noting that we had only eaten a pizza and a half up until then !! ) …. 5 minutes later another waiter came along and asked us if we wanted to take our pizzas home … at which point we told him lo let us finish our dinner in peace . There were other patrons who arrived both before us and after us who were not approached to leave the table . It was quite unsettling to feel so unwelcome especially due to the fact that most of the patrons queuing up for a table had not even bothered to book like us !!! … a bit of a let down unfortunately !

We saw this restaurant while taking a tour of Valletta, our guide recommended it, and with the kids begging for pizza we had to go. Unfortunately while the price was very good (€20 pp), and the service was friendly and efficient (it was the first meal we have had without a long way for the starters), today wasn’t their best day food wise, even if I can recommend the pizza. Bruschetta options were not great, the tomato on the caprese salad was not fresh (in fairness when we told them, the compensated us by not charging for it), calamari was not bad, although on the small side. While the pizza is definitely the best part of the restaurant, unfortunately one was dry and a little burnt (it was the margarita), although the other two were indeed delicious!! My son loved his. We have to compliment the service. And it was the best value meal we had. And I do recommend the pizza in general, think today was busy and we just got a bit unlucky.

Because of good reviews, we decided to visit this place for quick bite during visit to Valletta. This was really big mistake. We had parma pizza (14e) which was not possible to cut by knife and with not best ingredients. In Poland this spot wouldn't survive a day, also we had chance to visit two more pizza places in Valetta, where pizza was way better. So for pizza zero stars. We asked for two small beers (2e) very clearly. Meanwhile during pay out, waiter and cashier that didn't take our order were making stupid of us and trying to convince we ordered large beer. Don't get why waiter that not responsible for order, is taking care of bill. They should work on internal communication. Zero stars for client service. There is free toilet, and nicely decorated first floor. On second floor you have amazing view on parking lot. So two stars for atmosphere. Overall, can't recommend. There are in my opinion better places in Valletta.

Five-star pizza, minus-five-star manager: the math does itself.

It all started well. A night out with friends in the heart of Valletta, delicious pizzas, real laughter, a friendly waiter... Then came the plot twist straight out of a bad indie film: the payment.

Enter the manager — let’s call him "The Terminal Guardian" — who decides that splitting a bill by card is apparently a crime against humanity (or against his precious €5 in card fees). The problem? Nowhere is this mentioned. Not on the menu, not at the entrance, not even hidden under a plate.

We calmly explain that we only have cards and need to split the bill like the functioning adults we are — and the guy goes from 0 to rage like a scooter on a downhill in Mdina. Verbal aggression, blatant disrespect to both us and his own staff (“I don’t care about the tip”) — it was a 7-minute masterclass in how not to handle customers.

He nearly lost €110 just to save €5. Genius management. Harvard, take notes.

In the end, he caved under passive-aggressive pressure (“Either you split it or we walk”), proving that common sense occasionally beats stubborn ego.

The takeaway: 🥇 Pizza: Excellent. 👨‍🍳 Waiter: Delightful. 👔 Manager: Needs a sabbatical. Or therapy. 💳 Payment process: Felt like an escape room with no exit.

We came for the pizza. We left with a thesis on...

A visit to Sally Port Pizzeria is an absolute must for anyone seeking an authentic slice of Italy in the heart of Valletta. Tucked away in a charming location, this restaurant offers a dining experience that's both genuine and delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The outdoor seating is perfect for soaking in the Valletta ambiance, but it's the food that truly steals the show. The pizza is simply sublime. The dough, fermented for 48 hours, is a testament to their dedication to quality—it’s incredibly light, airy, and has the perfect amount of chew. The toppings are fresh and flavorful, from the rich tomato sauce to the creamy mozzarella. We also tried their bruschetta and calamari, both of which were delicious and showcased the kitchen’s commitment to using high-quality ingredients. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our waiter was happy to provide recommendations and ensured our meal was perfect from start to finish. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a meal with friends, Sally Port Pizzeria is the ideal spot. It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s a true culinary gem that delivers on every front. I cannot recommend it highly enough and am already planning...
