The boss has a bad attitude. I paid and there were a lot of dishes left. We box it and taking the left overs. The boss asked me, "Why did you box the food if you didn’t like it?" Is this what a normal person would ask? I paid for it and I don't want it go to waste. Is there a problem? He asked me to come back the next day. I said I didn't want to. He talk with the waiter in Italian in front of me and left. It was very rude. I even suspected that he used some bad words in Italian.) The staff had a bad attitude, keep urging me while ordering while ordering food, and didn't even know the simple English words of the the ingredients. The whole restaurant was a bit discriminatory. I asked to order dishes and pay the bill several times but they just ignored me. I waited for an hour for the dishes to be served. It was such a small table. We have ask them to serve the appetizers first, but everything come as once in the end. We were sitting outside on the hillside. The table was was shaking. I didn't dare to move. I saw many people came to this restaurant with good reviews , so we drove here. The restaurant is divided into two parts, outdoor and indoor. we went to the wrong side and There were several empty tables inside and outdoor tables. Later, I didn't see anyone who had reserved them. I don't know why tables were left empty and the waiter still told us to wait at the door for about 20 minutes. Finally, we got a outdoor seat we and ordered two pastas, a beef salad (I asked several times but the waiter couldn't tell me what kind of meat it was. Is raw beef difficult to learn in English?), and two side dishes. The place kept emphasizing that they don’t speak good English, so I opened Google to look at pictures and choose dishes I want. My companion, who was a native English speaker, could not even communicate with them and the waitress was being impatient. Even wanted to leave before finishing the order. In fact, it was not very busy. Most of the pastas in the photo were not available, only two kinds. The side dishes were also ordered incorrectly, communication was very difficult. The portion of pasta was super large and the taste was really average. In the end the employee did apologized later.

Không ngon, thái độ rất kém, có bàn trống, xếp hàng nửa tiếng, chờ thức ăn 1 tiếng.

맛없고 태도가 너무 나빠요. 미리 만든 음식이 빈 테이블이 있는 경우 30분 동안 줄을 서서 1시간 기다립니다.

Used to be of my fav pasta places. I took a friend to show her the place for the 1st time. The place looked a bit empty on the outside, there were only 3 tables occupied and one of the male waiters was dealing with a lady sat behind us, and did not react to us taking a table. No one told us that we can't sit outside or stopped us. An Italian female waitress came shouting at us. She asked while shouting, who told is to sit here, we said no one was really there to ask, so we just sat down. She took the reserved sign and slammed it hard on the table, while continued shouting: "It would have been nice to asked, RIGHT!!!". My friend and I were in shock, we tried to ask her to calm down, that's not a way to speak to no one, let alone customers. I told her that she could have told us nicely that we can't sit there and that's it, we would have mived immediately. She said there was a sign, we explained we did not see any sign and there was no reason to suggest we could not sit outside. She tried to calm down and as we were very kind and reasonable with her, she attempted, in an angry manner to say sorry and moved us inside. Our mood and the atmosphere was already ruined and we just left. This is quite sad, I took my friend there specifically, telling her how nice the pasta usually is, I had not been there for a while and we were both looking forward to a nice homey meal. It was horrible and the rest of our night was impacted too. This is unacceptable behaviour. We all work and are stressed, but that is not an excuse to treat anyone in this manner. Mind you this was happening while other people were sat down eating their food, listening this and seeing...

I visited this restaurant at 1 PM, drawn in by a glowing online review of their tiramisu, but my experience was soured the moment I sat down. When I politely asked to order only a dessert and a cup of coffee, the waiter reacted with visible irritation—his curt “Is that all?” and dismissive shrug made me feel unwelcome.

The tiramisu itself lived up to the hype: it was creamy, perfectly balanced, and topped with just the right dusting of cocoa. Unfortunately, the outstanding flavor couldn’t overcome the sour atmosphere created by the waiter’s rude attitude. A single item order shouldn’t be a burden, and great online reviews mean little when the hospitality fails. I won’t be returning.

In reference to your reply to my review, I was fully aware that you are a restaurant, not a bar or a cafeteria — however, many restaurants allow guests to enjoy dessert and coffee, especially during less busy hours. Your waiter’s attitude — dismissive and visibly irritated — is what soured my experience. Not the concept of your restaurant, and certainly not my order. Good hospitality should never depend on the size of the bill. Treating customers poorly because they don’t order a three-course meal says more about you than about your guests. As for mentioning my age: yes, I am young — but I am also an adult. It’s irrelevant and frankly quite unprofessional to bring it up in your reply. Age does not disqualify anyone from expecting basic respect. Instead of taking responsibility for poor service, you decided to shift the blame onto a paying customer. That’s unfortunate.

I stand by every word...

Molto bene, Zero Sei! Located in a quaint street in the middle of Valletta (the capital of Malta), this place may have the best pasta I ever tried. Trust me, after reading this review, you would want to come here. First of all, the atmosphere is very rustic. It’s no frills unlike most restaurants nowadays, as it is simple and it feels like a pasta restaurant in Italy (coming from an actual Italian), which is cool. Also, the staff were really nice (10/10) and they even sat me at a private table, which was beautiful as it felt calm and it was very quiet, which is perfect if you want to enjoy a perfecto plate of pasta. Now, onto the pasta. This is the best pasta I have ever had. Which pasta, you may ask. Well, let me introduce you to the Rigatoni Carbonara. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente and had the most astonishing texture of all time. However, the carbonara took it to the next level. The sauce was so creamy and indulgent, that it was heavenly, and the guanciale (pork cheek if you didn’t know) was crispy and added a salty and peppery depth to the dish overall. Overall, I don’t need to say much. All I want to say that this is the best pasta in Malta (maybe the world), and you need to try it. If you want to know more about nice food in Malta (and across the world), make sure to follow The Wandering Chicken’s page!

Zero Sei in Valletta is a great little Italian spot – highly recommend it if you’re in the area. We had the pasta amatriciana and carbonara, both absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. For the main, we went with scaloppine al limone and fries – super tasty and well cooked. The house white wine was also decent and paired nicely with the meal. We did have to wait about 20–30 minutes to be seated, as there were a few couples ahead of us. But the delay had an unexpected twist – right across the street is a theatre, and there was a big event happening, complete with the President of Malta arriving. The street was packed with motorcycles and official cars, and the restaurant had to give up a row of terrace tables for security. It was honestly kind of surreal – we were enjoying our pasta when the President casually walked by just a meter away from us. A memorable dinner for sure, both for the food and the experience!

If you’re looking for a change from traditional Maltese restaurants and want to dive straight into authentic Italian cuisine, Zero Sei Trattoria Romana is the place to go! Start by sharing their delicious appetizers – especially the supplì (a Roman specialty: fried rice croquettes with a melting mozzarella heart) and the fried zucchini flowers, both bursting with flavor. And then, the pasta… The rigatoni alla carbonara is probably the best carbonara I’ve had in years, and the cacio e pepe is just as excellent. If you prefer meat dishes, there are plenty of options too – but don’t come looking for pizza, because this is a real trattoria, not a pizzeria. To top it all off, the kindness and warmth of the team make the experience even more memorable. Just one tip: if you don’t want to wait, especially on weekends, make sure you book a table in advance! A true Roman gem right in Valletta – absolutely worth a visit!
