Came here on a Sunday evening just before 7. Wasn’t too busy at the time, but did fill up shortly after. We actually went slightly earlier than we would have liked due to the apparent shortage of chickens in the country and we didn’t want to miss out on Nosso’s speciality; Portguese Churrasco.
We were a party of five that ordered a full chicken, with a poutine, some classic cheesy garlic bread and quite a large beef and cheese french taco.
After a short wait the food arrived and we were hungry. We had actually asked for the beef french taco to arrive first to have as a starter, but it came with the mains. No bother.
Tucking into the chicken, I was really disappointed. I did not taste any of the good peri marinade. It had been dried out too and certain parts of the chicken was very salty. What was supposed to be a speciality, this was a proper let down. I think also missing was a salad or a salad coleslaw on the side accompanying this dish - this was much needed.
The beef tacos, however, were really delicious. The meat was soft and flavourful. The cheese wrapped around it added to the taste along with accompanying sauces. I really enjoyed this dish.
The poutine was good, without being spectacular. All cooked fine. Chips are always morish with some fun stringy cheese and chicken too. There was some skin-on potatoes found at the bottom too. A decent dish.
The cheesy garlic bread was good. Maybe too much cheese for my liking. One of the slices, I moved the cheese aside and tasted just the bread. This bread is really delicious and could have that alone. It would be great if they offered a non-cheesy version of the garlic bread.
The service was prompt and efficient. Due to the chicken shortages, they were honest and upfront of what was and wasn’t available right from the off - this is appreciated.
I’m not sure if this is my fault, but my impression was that Nosso specialises in peri chicken but also ventures into smoked meats. Most of the imagery on the shop is mostly about the chicken. So, naturally I wanted to try this. However, as mentioned this was a letdown. But the beef was great. They also do shortribs and I was thinking after maybe we should have got this instead. It didn’t feel like I saw much, if any, imagery of the shortribs. But I can tell from the tacos the beef is prepared really well. Perhaps I misunderstood, but this is very much a churrasco (smokehouse) clearly specialising in beef. I would not personally recommend the chicken based on my experience.
I actually do hope to return in the future to try a steak or shortribs and I would feel more confident in providing a more...
Read morelet me share to all of you the reality not the fancy advert shown all around the net: place very small & staff unwelcoming & Atmosphere zero-this no too important but this case is different. their advertising shown is very far from the reality. last week i called a day before for table they told to come early, - i went their first time the day after i had to wait over 1hour too much orders-they didn't see that info important to tell wow! forget about the welcoming, went to sit for order, they told can't place order at table go to a small corridor for that and not even get the menu - how they think its right that people will make a decision specially a new place new things to taste within a small tiny corridor 4-5 people space standing among loads of people with the person that supposedly have to take order is busy doing other things, how to decide or to have assistance? - this was the most hateful moment ever in any place i have been!!!!!!! simple call it a very simply grill/burger place not a restaurant!! food was good i am not too fan of european/portugese taste but fine for me (better turkish, oriental barbecuing or texan style barbecue or chinese) but we were already all pissed off. price ,small place, even atmosphere i don't mind but for that kind of service specially the tiny corridor service with these range of price - the better i choose a fancy place in the north! very amateur. i know many will say its nonsenses but with pleasure go there friday or saturday night early 18:15 and experienced this yourselves. I went there for planning if all gud i will do a big birthday my large family but no way now!!!!
I want to clear things: the place isn't the issue, the disregard, system, poor decision & management are the reason for my...
Read moreThis has been one of the most disappointing and frustrating experiences I've had with a takeaway service. I specifically requested the sauces to be packed separately, only to get home and find they were completely missing. When I called to address the issue, I was met with an unacceptable level of rudeness and disregard. And guess what he might be the one in charge or the owner and he was condescending, dismissive and made it clear that customer service is not a priority here. Rather than taking responsibility or offering any solution, I was essentially told there was nothing they could do and they had no intention of fixing their mistake as they will not be able to deliver me the sauces.
What’s even worse is the tone — speaking to a customer in such a disrespectful manner is inexcusable, especially when the fault lies with the business. It’s shocking how little they care about their customers’ experience and it shows a lack of professionalism and basic decency.
This is not just a simple error with missing sauce; it's about the complete lack of respect and unwillingness to make things right. I expected much better and will not be returning to a place that treats customers with such disdain.
To make matters worse, the food itself was far from impressive. It lacked flavor and quality, which made the entire experience even more disappointing. For a place that can't even get the basics right, combined with such poor customer service, I can't recommend this to anyone. Save your time, money and the hassle and order elsewhere where your business will actually be...
