Last Friday, my wife and I embarked on a quest to find the hidden gem that is Azulea restaurant. We wanted a romantic dinner away from the touristy spots, and it was quite the adventure.
Upon arrival, finding the entrance felt like solving a puzzle. The restaurant is nestled on the left side of the building. Pay close attention to the tiny signs for directions. Inside, you find yourself in a hotel and need to locate the elevator, which takes you to the 4th (or is it 5th?) floor. The confusion was real.
Once we reached our destination, we encountered another riddle. Signs pointed to both "Napoli Pizza e Pasta" on the left and "Azulea" on the right. We initially veered to the right, but it led to a dead end. Frustrated and almost ready to leave, we decided to double-check the signs. The elevator instructions said "restaurant on the 4th floor," but the room signs read "5th floor." It was baffling.
With persistence, we discovered a closed door for the pizza restaurant, and beyond it, a terrace with a view of Cabo. It was dark, and the employees were having dinner. We mustered the courage to ask if they were open. They said yes, turned on the lights, and the mystery began to unravel.
Our confusion was finally resolved as we realized that Azulea shares the space with Napoli Pizza e Pasta. Two restaurants in one place – now it was clear.
We settled in, ordered drinks, and chose our dishes. My wife went for the Fettuccine Alfredo, and I opted for the Prosciutto pizza. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, and the prices reasonable.
To our surprise, Paul, the owner, came over for a chat, and we had a delightful conversation. A great personal touch!
When we left, we encountered another challenge – it was pitch dark outside. A few exterior lights would be a welcome addition. Also, watch your step as the stairs and sidewalk don't quite meet the usual standards.
In the end, we highly recommend this place. The adventure to find it was part of the experience, and the fantastic food, service, and the view of Cabo made it all worthwhile. Don't miss it if you're in the area! 🍽️✨...
Read moreWhat can I say? A lot! First off, forgive the unfamiliar trek up the hill to get here, because it is well worth the effort! We walked in off of a cruise and were immediately greeted by our server and given the choice of sitting at a traditional table or a fire pit. Of course we chose the pit! Our drinks and food order were taken promptly and we enjoyed both dinner and a show as Jose hand-smoked our cocktails in front of us over the fire. The bone marrow and crab we started off was was delectable, and the ribeye we shared was presented on an iron stand in grand fashion.
The rooftop vibe was unforgettable, with its panoramic views of Cabo and all the city lights, but the icing on the cake was Paul's visit. We learned about him, his family, his background, restaurant, and his aspirations for the restaurant. I hope to see this gem flourish over time!
Make the trek from the harbor to Azulea. "Worth the walk" is an...
Read moreI am writing this review on behalf of my German speaking sister Gabriela. I recommended this place to her. Upon arrival she refused to walk to the building, because it is just a sandy dark dirt road, leading to the building and she didn't want to get her shoes dust and was a little scared. In any event they tried, her husband went inside the building. The elevator was out of order, The restaurant is on the 4th floor without handicap access. Her husband looked at a sad & empty terrace restaurant.... there was nobody to greet him. He looked at the menu, left with dusty shoes & informed my sister that the prices are ridicules. Sorry Gabriela. There are way better restaurants in San Lucas. They went to the Cabo Cantina near the Marina - My sister was smiling again walking on paved solid grounds. Gabriels said- No...
