The restaurant is beautiful & I definitely recommend. We were surprised with the edge table on the terrace to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. It was the best table in the house on the edge with a breathtaking view. We paid the cover charge for our reservation in advance. The view was INCREDIBLE & the service was wonderful. Our server Jesus and the manager were very professional and kind. Drinks were good & the food was yummy.
The short rib pappardelle was delicious. The Caramel duck pasta was ok , but I wish I would have ordered the Gnocchi. The Holiday and Jazz something drinks were DELICIOUS
But BEWARE... we paid for the terrace but as soon as the sun was setting we were suddenly surrounded by almost everyone that was sitting INSIDE. Mind you, the terrace is tiny & we were sitting in the prime area with our dinner already Infront of us, but there were people putting their hands in our faces, hands and arms above our food. People bumping into us and basically with their elbows on our table trying to get pictures/selfies with the beautiful view. This lasted almost our entire time we were eating. It was very uncomfortable and I feel like we lost out on our experience that we "paid and reserved" at the expense of everyone trying to get their photos in. I feel like it should have been the restaurant's responsibility to not allow all of those people on the terrace, it was so tacky and rude of the other guests. Don't be like those people. I will post the video and you can clearly hear how many people are around us. It was a waste for us to pay for the "experience" on open table when we made the reservations....we would have ordered more and spent more time there but it was just uncomfortable after that. One guest even was snarky about us clearly being annoyed and uncomfortable. After she noticed that I was annoyed that her and her family of 6 were in my personal space trying to take a picture. She literally said "es el sacrificio para la vista...bien creídos " ...
the mánager stopped by our table as soon as everyone left , during that time the staff couldn't even walk to the tables to assist . He apologized and said it was out of his control, which we understand..he was so kind and respectful...I just recommended they do some crowd control...before hand or limit the amount of people who come to the edge to take a picture
They did surprise us with some champagne and desert candy which was...
Read moreWe were excited about having an evening here - it was one of the few things on the short-list of "must do's" on our vacation. Jazz on the rocks is a wonderful concept, promises a great atmosphere and a premium food and service, however our experience was definitely "rocky" at best.
We scheduled a reservation for the outdoor seating, which does ask for an extra fee, I'm sure it is to reduce no-shows which is totally understandable.
The table we had at arrival had a fine view, however had an equal amount of sound from both bands, one inside and the other outside due to the fact that the door between was propped open. When I asked the server if it was okay to shut the door or if we could move, he initially told us no to both. I understood (they were busy) but was a little annoyed that there was an extra fee to reserve a table with maybe the worst atmosphere of the restaurant.
But then, our server redeemed the experience and moved us forward to a better table when another couple left!
Unfortunately, that's was maybe the highlight of of our experience. After 30 minutes our cold and overcooked truffle fries arrived, and then after finishing our appetizer our server asked if we wanted to order anything else. When we asked about our meals we had ordered he became flustered and said he would check on them. If I'm assuming the best, our server just never checked in on the kitchen and they lost our order, at worst our server never placed the order for us.
The server made some excuses about the busy evening for the restaurant (in a tourist town) and the gluten free preparation, but didn't really own the fact that it took 90 minutes from our order to receiving our food. We were given a small free glass of wine, and then were not comped for anything on our bill.
I shrugged, figured at least the view and jazz were good. Upon exiting at the same time as another group we heard them also complaining of the evening and said the server told them not to tip, and they were even comped an additional 15%. Hard to say our experience was a one-off this evening.
Needless to say, we were disappointed with the experience and the way it was handled, or not, by the staff.
Would I recommend? Hard to say, the atmosphere and music were as good as should be expected, but everything in between makes it hard for us to consider...
Read moreApproaching the restaurant we were so excited to try a new restaurant with great reviews and incredible food. Upon entering the restaurant, the views were breathtaking! We ordered a Hemingway mojito (mojito with champagne instead of soda), water, and a martini. For appetizers, 2 Caesar salads, and entrees included Bianca pizza and scallops. The music was great, pizza was delicious, and scallop entree while delicious was only 3 tiny scallops. We declined dessert and received our bill to find a total of 2 mojitos and 2 champagnes at $35 usd each. Total for each Hemingway mojito = $55 usd. When we asked the waiter about those items he mentioned he had to charge us for the champagne and mojito separately. We said we understood being charged for the addition of champagne, but $35 seemed completely crazy and at no point did he mention the amount of up charge or we would have declined. Additionally our entire food order didn’t cost the $110 they tried to charge us for 2 drinks. The server explained he agreed with us, the charge did not make sense, and we asked for the manager. The manager mentioned the system doesn’t allow for to an up charge thus they have to charge separately. In the US a Hemingway mojito is typically $12-$15, $55 is just insane. We explained to the manager if the cost was so much they should let people know up front so we could decline and order a different drink. However, we were never given the option, just charged an insane price for 2 drinks. The manager comped one drink, which still ended up costing $55 for 2 mojitos. We’ve been traveling to Cabo for over 10 years, this experience makes me look at every bill even closer to ensure we’re not being taken advantage of. We are business owners and would never take advantage of our customers this way, sadly disgusted this is the type of experience we...
