I had almost a great time here. It looks just like all the videos and tiktoks truly beautiful. The setting is what will make me return. The food was also fine. The reason I give 3 stars is because of service. I was there maybe 2 hours and had my water glass refilled twice? Thank goodness for the margarita I ordered....Lastly the waiters were kind enough to allow me and my friends to pay separate tabs for ease of payment. However they erred on the bill and charged my friend my lower bill and gave me the higher bill. If I hadn't double checked my Spanish to USD conversion before paying I would have paid 50 dollars over. Additionally the way this was handled was in poor service. Initially they did not believe me. Then after rechecking they noticed the error. They recalculate my correct total but then wwre unable to provide me an itemized receipt. It was just a solid number they calculated (iPhone calculator btw). When I asked for an Itemized receipt it became another hullabaloo with 3 workers handling this problem. At one point the younger waiter with the red hair and glasses became somewhat short with me when I asked him to explain what was happening. I am not a Spanish speaker and the entirety of my time there they were able to easily speak to me in English. However when the issue with the bill came up they for some reason only communicated with my friend who was a Spanish speaker. My friend had to tell them in Spanish to explain in English what was happening. Im all for native speakers speaking their languages whenever but it made me feel uncomfortable that this began when there was an issue with the bill, I couldn't get an itemized receipt, and the waiter is being short with me. At what point I told the waiter I was not arguing with him and did not need a dismissive response everytime I inquired what was happening...Id probably go back again, but will request maybe more older or experienced staff. It was a generally nice experience but for the pricing and setting the service here was less hospitable than other high end restaurants Ive been to in Cabo.
*EDITED FOLLOWING OWNER RESPONSE
Hello, thank you for responding to my review. Areas of improvement would be with service staff. As a tourist I am overtly aware of using my visa in another country. Being overcharged for something is not good bussiness. I assume it was an error but I also would have been very upset if later I found out I overpaid. For a restaurant of this quality I wouldn't expect I need to double check the math of the restaurant.
Your servers need to communicate with their English speakers. Discussing specifics about my bill in a language I don't understand, especially when my visa is involved and Im paying a large sum, does not make me feel comfortable using my visa or spending money there. I also felt disrespected that they spoke to my male friend instead of me about my issue...
Lastly your younger waiter was disrespectful. His tone and demeanor were passive initially but then became short and rude. If their was frustration that they could not figure out how to fix the bill, then it should not have been directed towards me. When I asked for an itemized bill, which I've been able to easily recieve in the past, the server made me feel as if I was asking for too much even though that is what a receipt is supposed to consist of. Having your servers use a phone calculator to determine an incorrect payment does not exude professional at all. When the waiter began to be rude to me I felt like I was no longer welcomed and just a dollar transaction he wanted to get rid of. It was not welcoming.
Ive never received this type of experience in Cabo or the States over a bill error. Please train your staff on how to deal with billing errors in a communicative and kind way. Offer transparency to your customers so they don't have to worry about being overcharged or not understanding what is happening when the servers decide to stop explaining and/or speaking English towards you. And maybe give a free dessert to compensate for the...

Stunning Views, Mixed Experience – Worth It for the Sunset, But Not Without Flaws
Sunset Mona Lisa is undeniably one of the most visually stunning dining experiences in Cabo. The view alone—crashing waves, surfers cutting through the water, and a front-row seat to the sun dipping below the horizon—is worth remembering. Our table was right at the edge of the terrace with a completely unobstructed view, and that part was absolutely magical.
The food was solid but didn’t quite live up to the high-end pricing. We chose the three-course fixed menu (around $90 USD, if memory serves). The steak tartare appetizer was excellent, and the dessert was lovely. However, the truffle linguine (or fettuccine) didn’t deliver on the rich truffle flavor I was hoping for. Our group also ordered a side of fries that never arrived—not a huge deal, but for the price and reputation, small misses like that add up.
Service was generally warm and attentive, and we enjoyed the white wine selected for the table. However, we ran into a major issue when one of our group members was accidentally charged in U.S. dollars instead of pesos—resulting in a charge of over $3,000 for a single meal. Despite having five more days in Cabo to resolve it, the restaurant dragged their feet, and it wasn’t settled until we were already back in the States, after getting her bank involved. It was stressful, frustrating, and completely avoidable. Honestly, for that kind of error, they should have comped her entire meal.
In terms of ambiance, it’s definitely designed for romantic, intimate dinners. With our group of five, we were mindful of possibly disturbing the couples around us—tables felt a bit too tightly packed. I’d suggest they consider seating larger, more lively parties in one area, and couples in another, to help preserve the serene vibe for everyone. That said, the restaurant includes a professional photographer to take a complimentary photo of your party, which was a wonderful gift and helped us capture memories without disrupting the atmosphere.
The drinks were beautiful and creative, themed after the Seven Deadly Sins. I didn’t try them this time, but I definitely plan to next time. The bathrooms were also immaculate and tastefully designed—an often overlooked detail that added to the overall sense of elegance.
Overall, I’d give this experience 4 stars for the setting and presentation, but 3.5 stars when factoring in the unresolved billing error and slightly underwhelming food. It’s definitely worth visiting once for the view and ambiance—but I hope the service team tightens up the details to match the beauty of...
Read moreThis place feels more like a tourist trap than anything else. I understand why some people might find it charming, but it doesn’t really give you an authentic feel. I skipped a sunset with my partner to come here, and honestly, we regret that. We would’ve had a much better time at the beach.
After planning this for months, especially for New Year's Day, the price of the tables dictates your experience (we looked at photos and it seems very different in person, everything and even from all spots the sunset should be vowed correctly, no one deserves that view). With all the hype around this venue, you’d think everything would be set up beautifully, especially since they claim to have a sunset view. No matter what you pay for a table, the sunset should be properly appreciated, but our table had a terrible view.
They did offer to help with an upgrade, the waitstaff also continuously got in front of the sunset on critical moments of the sunset, ruining the moment. And then the attempt to change our table came way too late, right after the sun had set, and without any positive outcome. We just ended up leaving right away.
We wanted to enjoy the view, but the table blocked it. Even if we had managed to get the upgrade we were willing to pay for, the whole experience felt underwhelming. The drinks were overpriced (and we’ve gotten better ones elsewhere where you gladly pay for it, in here it’s just not worth it), the 7 capital drinks felt like a cheap offer, and the overall vibe was pretty average, almost like a generic all-inclusive resort. The horn and Wong, poorly executed pulls you out of the moment, and then there was a singer performing "O Sole Mio," which was pretty subpar. To had much better experience on real ceremonies or moments with conscious people that really honors this moment. This all feel really disconnected from the real thing.
If you appreciate moments for what they are and want to truly soak them in, this place is seriously lacking. You pay for a fancy experience, booking through OpenTable like it’s an upscale restaurant, but you get a buffet vibe instead. So, avoid the trap; breathe in the sunset at any other place and truly connect with what matters. You’ll definitely find something way better. This is a total tourist trap, and it’s shocking people fall for it. We need to stop supporting places like this, that really want to take advantage of people’s money, and hope for people to talk for it. Particularly those from other countries. It's an inexpensive amateur performance that's been hyped up as something classy and well-crafted. It feels cheap and tacky...
