La Palapa at Esperanza Resort — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

I am honestly so impressed with this place. Not only was this the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time if not ever, but the service was impeccable and the atmosphere, view, and suggestions were amazing. The server, Pablo, was super helpful with his recommendations and I ended up ordering a mushroom zucchini taco and the braised short ribs. He brought me corn and flour tortillas for my short ribs and I honestly loved both! Most places I’ve gone to in California give you one or two tortillas, this place gives you more than enough! And they appear to be freshly made. My husband had the steak and shrimp fajitas which I tried and OMG! The steak was not rubbery and was tender and so good! The ceviche was incredible as well! I also am usually a red wine drinker but the weather was too hot and the som, Guadalupe, suggested a sav blanc that was easy to drink and perfect with my meal. Good value for the price. Cool location and view inside a rocky cove. Entrees are simple and modest. I had paella which was ok but not well spiced nor well seared on the bottom. But for an ocean side table at a nice resort there is good overall...

The views at this restaurant is amazing. The smokey Mango drink is absolutely delicious and we had their fish taco for lunch and enjoyed that as well. The service was great and attentive. They even brought us binoculars to watch the whales....
