Honestly, this restaurant was the only negative part of our trip to Cabo. We had 11 people for dinner for a business trip. My wife tried for two days to make reservations here and was told they do not make reservations until day of. So, the day of she walks to Zen and asks for the 11 person reservation. They tell her she does not need a reservation to just show up. She shows up at 6:30 pm, 30 minutes early to ensure our seating is good and the restaurant is empty. The manager says she is good for 11 people. She texted us all to show up and be seated by 7pm. We show up, and they put us at a table set for 6 and tell the other 5 they must sit at another table. We asked.th to combine the tables and they would not do it. After arguing with the manager about this, we asked to move us to open Hibachi tables, which would hold 13, he said you need a reservation, which really worked us up since we had been trying for days. I can go on and on about what a circus this experience was that could have been easily resolved two different ways with tables.
I was hoping our server would have been th person to save the day, but she was just okay at best.
The food was okay too. I liked the sushi and sashimi, but the hibachi sampler was okay.
Next time in Cabo, I am going to avoid...

They said they can "fit us in" and when we got to our table it was two tables of six. We asked if they could put them together and they said absolutely not. This was a rather large conference and business dinner and this was a huge disappointment. Top it all off, when my husband got there to see if they could put together the tables and talk to the hostess, the hostesses lied and told me that I had to make a reservation...... then don't you think that if I was there I WOULD HAVE???? Service was ok, it took us forever to get our drinks, then when I ordered something different I got a totally different drink. And another time it took 40 minutes to get another. Good was ok at best. Read moreThis review is for Zen restaurant sushi bar (within the Hard Rock resort). When you eat at the sushi bar, the sushi chef only makes sushi to your taste (there is no menu when you sit at the sushi bar). It was excellent! Isaac made excellent tasting sushi to our taste. Our favorite was the last roll which he named the Chalupa! We told him we liked shrimp, avocado and tempura. He made an outstanding roll with that in mind. So tasty! See the photos. And the presentation of all rolls was great. Fernando was our waiter and was very friendly, attentive and entertaining. Will definitely be back another night during our stay!
