If Cabo San Lucas is not on your list of golf destinations, it probably will be after you learn about Diamante. The resort-private community boasts 36 holes for spectacular seaside golf – with one course being ranked No. 1 in Latin America and the second designed by Tiger Woods. Homeowners inside the Diamante property are engaged in a rental program; where as traveling golfers can rent their condos or villas in order to access the courses. The property is beautiful, expansive and well worth the trek. The Dunes Course at Diamante is ranked No. 1 in Latin America and No. 36 in the world. The Davis Love III design flows seamlessly through natural sand dunes and offers stunning views of the neighboring Pacific Ocean. Every hole on the course has character and creative elements that make all of them especially memorable. It’s one of those rounds where you’ll remember every shot you hit. On top of that, first-class comfort stations offer handmade tamales and margaritas made in front of you with fresh ingredients. The Tiger Woods designed El Cardonal course pairs well with the Dunes. The fact that it’s the first-ever golf course designed by Woods makes it a must play. Wide fairways and elevation changes are the recurring theme, as it sits on the highest point the Diamante property has to offer. Woods designed the course to be playable for the average golfer from the forward tees, but to also present skilled golfers with a firm test from the tips. Overall, it’s less challenging than the Dunes and the ocean views aren’t as dramatic – but it’s definitely a course you want to cross off your list. The practice facilities at Diamante are a golf experience in their own right. The range at El Cardonal offers a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean and sits next to a full service bar. Over at the Dunes Course, a large canyon filled with native vegetation splits the range. Target greens are scattered on each side, and you can simulate any number of on-course shots – including trying to carry the canyon to a flag on the opposite side. I feel for the guy who has to...
Read moreThis was our first time using our timeshare this year, which we purchased last year in Cabo. We got a great deal. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was awesome, especially Jesus, Abraham, and Diana. We found out that Tafer company bought out Diamante, and the staff is awaiting Word on September 1 if they have a job. Tafer company is bringing their own ppl. It's sad because we spoke to other members, a lot of the Diamante staff have been there for a long time and the word has it if some were to stay they pay will be less. Talking to other members and their guess, the #1 complaint was that Diamante is so far out from town. It's a 50-minute ride to the airport. The food was good, but I feel a little pricey. There were 4 ppl in our group. A 7-day breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks ran us $2,345. The ride to downtown cabo by Marina ran $ 35- $40 one way. In the future I would suggest to the new owners to put some type of dance club, Karaoke club for all ages, More Activities, and some type of show. I know it's a golf resort, but not all members or members guess play golf. Would be nice to have a little golf course for kids/ adults to play. Our 2 bedroom executive suite on the lagoon was beautiful and big. We rented a golf cart for $75 a day. We rode around on the property. Diamante built a lot since we bought our timeshare in April last year. The 4 star rating was because of how far the property was out. In another post, someone wrote that this property is not for ppl of color. I feel that's not true. Our family is of color and mixed, and everyone is very respectful . Other ppl of color spoke to us who were long-time members, and every time, we all would say, "HI family." We had an awesome time. Hope we see the original staff...
Read moreAbsolutely Amazing Lagoon and spectacular golf course. Expensive drinks and food. The only ice is $15 for a bag which doesn't fit in the mini fridge ice area making doing your own drinks at your room rather difficult. A bit of an upscale place so me being a middle class recently retired architect didn't really feel at ease. Not sure I'll ever feel $15 mixed drinks and a $50 basic eggs & bacon breakfast are acceptable but whatever. We were there with friends and basically had a free 3 day stay so I can't really complain. Lots of acreage still undeveloped around the resort and golf course but if they get it done, or when in probably 10 years it will be amazing. The resort was understaffed being it was just purchased by the new owner, but I didn't feel like the service suffered. I don't play golf but the course looked meticulously well kept.. The resort is a bit remote so getting into Cabo is expensive as well. The food at the resort was great too. If I were a golfer I would love this place. We spent most of our time in the saltwater Lagoon which has to have the largest pool liner I've ever seen. Nicely kept sand beach and plenty of chairs with...
