My wife and I have dined at Giuseppis in Rosarito on numerous occasions and it has always been excellent But today's experience was very disappointing. We realise that establishments like this are finding it a difficult time with this damn covid 19 BUT feel they should be giving their patrons a good experience to encourage them to return. When seated, we waited for far to long to get drinks ordered and then waited quite a length of time for those drinks to arrive. When we ordered our meals, we also asked for a basket of bread, which we have had heaps of times. The waiter said No only 1 piece of bread per person. They bake the bread on the premises, and they certainly did not appear to be very busy as there were as many staff as there were customers. The bread was not fresh like bread baked that day but had to be at least a day or more old. When we had finished our meal, we had to wait some time to get the attention of our waiter who was not serving any table but hovering around in the vicinity. This place has been a favorite of ours for about 6 years but not any more. Sadly, they have gone downhill and need to...
Read moreThis is a great place for a number of reasons... Staff, cleanliness, food and especially the price.
The restaurant is made to feel like an Italian restaurant. From the design to the way the staff are dressed.
It is extremely clean and the staff are very friendly.
You will however need to know some basic Spanish. When you take a seat, you will be offered (in Spanish) a Spanish or English menu. They will know from your response that you need an English. From there you can Google how to ask for an item and just point to it. Having to know Spanish may seem strange to some people given the fact that Rosarito is so close to the border but my position is that you are in Mexico, why should they have to learn your language?!
The prices are insane. My wife and I ordered chicken alfredo, lasagna with chicken and a liter of wine. The bill was $20.54!!! That would have cost $80 in the States.
And make sure you leave a great tip. They will greatly appreciate it.
If you liked my review, please...
Read moreSo sorry to say I had a very disapponting experience at this restaurant on my last visit. I have been going to this restaurant for 5 years but under the COVID 19 conditions I will not be going back again. The service was very slow, despite not many patrons. The 3 of us waited a long time to get out drinks. We were then told by our waiter we could only have one small slice of bread, which was not fresh, per person, whereas before we received a basket of fresh bread with condiments. My friend and I received our meal and my husband had to wait a further 20 minutes before he received his meal. We the had to wait a long time for our bill. After having waited an aweful long time we called over another waiter to ask for our bill. We were so very disappointed. After having gone to this restaurant for 5 years with great experiences, I would not recommend this restaurant after my disappointing experience today. I feel there is no reason why we should have been...
